I'm level 21 with 5 max level spells and I've just finished the second boss. I kill everything in one hit, I can't cast through my shortcut bar before my first spell is off cooldown. I could continue playing and beat the game, but I'm bored already and not interested in that grind.
Good music, good art, poorly executed gameplay. 3/5
Maybe it's just me, but the opening exposition probably should've been done while our legendary hero was actually alive to hear it instead of still a stinkin' corpse. :-P
Criticism: I've played up to World 40. Sadly without me being back at my comp every couple hours, the game utterly stalls. I need to manually grind maps, prestige all the gear again, then let it idle through a couple more worlds before it stalls again. It stops being an idle game, and doesn't have the appeal of an active game.
Which reminds me of something else that's irrelevant, another reward that doesn't scale with worlds is the Clear land for +5 Trimp population bonus. That was cool early on! NOt so much now that I'm sporting over 7k of the little devils.
Finally, when hiring workers, if I have a selection for +100 per click, but only 99 are available to be assigned, please assign UP TO the max available. As it is now, I have to switch down an increment, click a bunch of times, then switch down to 1's and click even more.
Long reply, (Over 2.2k characters!) but I hope you read it all. I genuinely want to see you do well.
By world 20, where I click to focus my efforts makes no discernible difference. Oh! On my science it goes up by 1k, every other slot no numbers change. This aspect has become pointless. To make it relevant again, past a certain point the upgrades for my personal contribution should carry a % "Oversight" bonus in addition to the base. This way it can actually scale.
Speaking of scaling, blocking is moot. Around world 20 things are doing 5 Qi damage while I have 66 Qi HP, and I can block 200 Bil of that with 80% (5700) of my guys as trainers. As a comparison, 200 Bil / 5 Qi is in the range of 0.000004 %. I am far better off putting those 5700 trimp's into mining and maxing all my equipment upgrades considering even in the mid game that gave me trillions more in survivability than blocking ever did.
Going to be gentle with you as this is V.0.06
I need to be able to buy structures in multiples. Spam clicking 1 at a time after coming back to your computer is frustrating in later worlds as the game begins to respond slower
Trapping is useless after the early game. I liked the idea of building several hundred traps, then "Trapping" to speed up my army "Respawn" time, but not only is it impractical to jump between clicking traps, "Trapping", and then also "Building", in the late game +1 Trimp is irrelevant. Two options to fix this. One is to have upgrades for traps permitting you to catch more Trimp's per trap. The other is to permit traps to autobuild while you idle on trapping. Perhaps an upgrade for this too?
This has already been mentioned, but either let me idle in a map so it keeps being run over and over, or kick me back to my world once the map is clear An idle game should be less optimized without my intervention, not come to a screeching halt
Fairly cool game. :) A couple things.
Black Market: Please leave my selection highlighted when I confirm the trade. It's a dreary set of extra clicks to trade for more food 10 times.
Dismissing Champions: I grabbed two swordsman early because it seemed like a sure way to win fights and get ahead, but now I'd really rather have a knight. There is no way that I found to free up a slot, and recruiting with full slots spends the $$/Food and does nothing else.
Training: When levelling up my champs I can scroll through my four champs without time flowing. On 3x speed you easily lose one day per training schedule you setup even with fast clicking.
Thanks for the Sound question. ^_^
Decent :) I have a beef with the UI however. Between levels, at the upgrade menu, I can't go back to the main menu. Clicking the menu button does nothing. Instead, I need to start the next level, and then Exit the game.
Achievements, why is there no button to check our achievement progress from the upgrade menu? Instead we need to exit to the main menu through the process I mentioned above…
Replaying previous levels. If I'm trying to get the achievement for level 11, I don't want to start level 12 afterwards. Levels you've already beaten should return you to the level select screen instead of forcing you to quit out of the next level.
For easy hotel management… Manipulate the filters until you only attract one type of customer 100% of the time. Then, set up each room identically to suit that persons needs. Make sure you don't mix floors with amenities/rooms so the elevator unloads quickly.
Had two mist towers setup at the entrance to the third boss level. One had two ice gems in it, and monsters were being frozen before they were on the screen properly. When those guys unfroze, they and everybody behind them wouldn't move, and quickly got wiped out. Same with the boss, but after the boss was dead the level end didn't trigger. >_<
Bugs are annoying, and the level up is a bit pointless. What reason do you have to get anything aside from gold, mana, and gems proc? Great art though.
Attempting to see what happens if I go through this with only two ships. The only reason I'm making these fights is because of my passive regen, repairing nearly 20 hp a round.
Only thing I'd ask for is a mute button. I love the music, sound effects are fun, and the voice acting is well done and makes the entire story more engrossing... but there are times when you need to be able to turn off one of these things, or all of them.
Level 11: "Not what, but who. This is a technology not made by humans." This made me laugh as I took note of the very English 'Area 38' in the background.
