I found that Spares Dispenser only heals the others if it's ahead of the other vehicle(s).

For me, the 40 wave easy marathon (maybe other levels) wasn't that hard if you just have a balance between all four elemental mages with a few warriors.

I was so soothe by the game I was able to get all three badges.
