I started a support ticket but found that you just have to... give up? 'Complete your adventure" without actually killing the lvl 50 boss... ok I guess I'm not getting Deekin this go around.
New player here: I'm having trouble against Zariel in "Party Crashers (Deekin)". I'm able to kill her minions, but her HP looks like it's "per hit"? I can't hit her enough times before she one-hits each of my party members.
Is there a "Rate of Fire" buff I'm missing for the party? They never seem to attack any quicker.
Is this a case of "get good" or am I missing a piece to the puzzle?
Pretty good upgrade/shooter! The money draw from the survival levels kept them relevant, even if they were a bit tedious. Last boss had an interesting couple of mechanics but for the most part, I could clear all the final levels on the first try.
I would not be happy if I died on a survival level with the 4-5 minute requirement though. But that's not to say it's poor design. "git good" right?
I don't typically like Roguelikes. The concept of losing my progress grinds my gears.
This game... this game should serve as the gold standard for what RPG/Roguelike blends should aspire to be. The farther you get, the more the game rewards you for playing.
5-star, and a developer who follows up with all the comments? I will watch your career with great interest.
Thanks so much :) I did feel like this game was a bit of a gamble. Kongregate (and web games in general) usually have constant progression and upgrades, while a rougelike/lite is a sawtooth version of that where players go on a wild ride of ups and downs. I'm glad people weren't too frustrated by the resets, and that they seemed to feel progress not just from the upgrades over time, but also their skill level improving in loot analysis. Really encouraging words, I hope to keep pumping out cool games for everyone!
The bad planets don't live long enough for me to collect tech points. They either commit suicide (sometimes taking the planet with them) or asteroids destroy them. I want to enjoy this game, but I've been stuck with not enough tech points for 15 minutes on "Terraforming", and can't complete it just because they keep dying on me. I've completed the other objectives.
this is an excellent game. The arena style is good, but you could definitely expand it into an adventure style. Other games have done this, but your upgrade system is next to flawless. A couple other guns maybe, or even another upgrade on the spreadshot. 5/5
Very nice use of circles and straight edges.
Color scheme is excellent.
My only problem is that difficulty only changes how many hits you can take before dying. It doesn't make you stronger or weaker.
I like the different endings. My only concern was that this was entirely too short. 5 minutes tops.
Nice artwork, but there were only 2 choices. Of course that leaves you with 4 endings.
More choices, maybe a total of 5 endings, and maybe different stages of the relationship.
Its an interesting puzzle concept, but I agree with the above comments. The teleport makes it very easy. The holy water is almost unnecessary with how useful teleport is.
I do like how skeletons can't pass by each other. That's a nice touch.
Maybe there could be more creatures? Ghosts? Levels where teleport/holy water is restricted?
We have lots of ideas for a possible sequel, but in the end decided to limit the scope of this game. Since it's the first one we've created, our goal was to build a small game based on what we've learned from playing on Kong for several years. Thanks for the suggestions!
EDIT: We've added Hard Mode! 100 levels - no teleporting!
Hahaha that's a great way to put it. I'll use that quote in the game trailer for a full version :)
