My progress didn't save and I don't have it in me to do the first 20 levels over again. Nice, interesting puzzle concept. Some of the levels (that I played, anyway) were really challenging and satisfying to beat. Love the simple design, it works.

Would be nice to be able to earn more stars for completing levels on harder difficulties. There's not really much incentive to do it otherwise. But it's a nice, challenging game. Love all the hotkeys/controls. I didn't see right away that you could select units by type, was lamenting that capability and lo and behold, there it was! Thanks for the game!
I was initially a little bored, some of the levels are just so easy, but once I let myself just enjoy the simplicity of it, I really enjoyed it. I think the difficulty curve could have been steeper, but as it was, I completed all 50 levels in pretty short time without any significant hangups or trouble and there's something to be said about that, too. Games that get too hard aren't relaxing which I assume is part of what you were going for. Altogether a pretty nice game!
I started out thinking this game was "too much text" before settling down to think of it as a fun graphic novel that just happens to have some puzzles. I actually went from "Oh, I have to do seven of these?" to thinking about the Contestants and their story when I was driving in the car and unable to wait to get home and continue. I am now anxiously awaiting Arc 2.
This is really superb stuff. I can't give it the review it deserves. Really wonderful. Congratulations on a fine project you can be proud of.
I really like a lot about this game. It's far from perfect but I gave it a 4 because I was entertained and any issues were outweighed by the fun. That said, there are a couple things. There was a bug a couple times where an enemy wouldn't die (no life bar). The quest rewards made many of them not worth trying for when I could just grind the main level for many times over at less of a challenge. The NPCs were mostly useless -- it would have been more fun had it been possible to switch between the characters so that I could maybe help keep the thief and archer alive.
It's rare I give a puzzle game 5 stars. But this was REALLY fun, relaxing, and satisfying. Really well done. Music, gameplay, graphics, learning curve, everything was fantastic.
Wow. Around "almost everybody hates everybody" I got what you were doing/saying, and then it felt way too real finishing out the game. Pretty powerful stuff.
straightforward, logical puzzles that make you think without making you frustrated. No need for frantic pixel hunting. Lots of opportunities for immediate reward with the challenge of finding all the sushi.
As usual, Bonte created a game that was fun and thoughtful, with cute and simple graphics and audio, that you don't have to read his mind to solve. Thank you!
"Oh, achievements! Let's check this game out." *boobsboobsboobs*
"Okay, one of those games. Ugh, well, let's get a badge or two." *Game gives instructions on refreshing if the game should freeze*
"Oh geez. Okay. Hmm, I don't get to actually participate in the battles? But I have to PAY to speed it up? Nevermind. I'll just close this tab..." *Wait, don't go! popup*
...really??
I'm really impressed with what went into this game. It's really, really sophisticated for being a flash game. So much went into the dialogue, all the bookshelves, a ton of sidequests... it's impressive just what the game can DO, it's all very impressive. Well done! You deserve to be working on a larger platform than this!
One comment just in case it's a bug: I cannot seem to place more than one flyer for the sidequest "Magician's Apprentice", and am not sure if that's a glitch of some sort or if I'm just missing something.
Thanks for this game!
There's something zenlike and satisfying about the game. My only issue is that when I would have to move previously placed pieces so that I could put more together, everything I'd already placed fell apart. I kind of wish they would lock together a little more. Nicely done, though. I liked that the game had some physics involved, making you have to readjust your pictures. No real difficulty curve but that was okay.
It feels pretty unnecessary to add a comment but I think it's really sad that I just cannot keep working on this for badges because the lag makes it so much more difficult than it needs to be.
I was having an issue where I would reload a saved game and it would show me a room (or part of a room/hallway) but I could not do anything. I was afraid I would have to restart. Hitting "Save" and then "Save and return to lobby" fixed the problem.
This is a fun TD. I was very bummed on level 12 when the flying castle made its transformation to a walking castle and suddenly, none of my towers or my hero acknowledged it or any of the enemies it dropped. Have to start all over again.
