There is a reason - why civilization is turn-based game. This one feels nice, but it's just uncomfortably slow for active-playing game and uncomfortably requires constant presence in-game for an idle game.
Example from my run - I had to go afk for a couple of hours at about middle of ancient era (you don't expect people to sit and watch the research tickling ~40 minutes down, right, only to click the next research, right?) during that time some AI had found a colony next to my village and started constantly streaming troops from it at me. I have enemy pillaging my money every minute - thus I can't save them for anything - and if I attempt to build-up troops - they send ~70-100 men army to ensure that I stay down. So, I can't do pretty much anything.
Awful game to pick for BotD - aside from scoring rules, no restarts, no level select. I understand that they try to pick games themed to badge, but weren't there any better?
Idea is fine and anything that is not an idle came or money-grabber MMO is a welcome sight for my eyes. But, lack of playtesting is disappointing. There are too many bugs for me to play it. I've surrendered at 4th mission. There are two gates and two keycards there. If you'd pick up one of those cards before you'd come to gate - they won't open at all. Second gates... won't open at all, despite of me searching almost everything and having picked up both cards... I've restarted mission several times, trying to find right algorithm, but then I gave up. 3/5
I'm not a fan of idle games, but I wanted to like this one. But with weekly updates that reset my progress it feels like even more waste of time than any other idle games. 2/5 for endless resets.
Nice attempt, but starts getting annoying quickly, especially when shamans come in, spewing fireballs that annihilate whole groups of fighters and you don't have anything to counter them. You can't like order your troops to focus their fire on shaman or anything. 3/5.
Only 2/5 after musical puzzle. I don't have too acute hearing and it was troubling. Plus, developers added a nice option to turn off the sound from the main menu (which I often, since I like to listen to my own music while playing games) and didn't add an option to turn it on in game. Anyway, if you have bad hearing or openly deaf - the right combination for the musical puzzle (assuming that ribs are numbered 1-9, left to right) is: 8-7-8-7-8-3-6-4-1 (I hope that I've written it correctly)
An example of how games are not supposed to be made. When you create game you should decide if it should be hard and finger-breaking or calm and relaxing. Here first half of the game would scare off people, who want a challenge, while the second half would scare off people, who want a relaxed adventure.
Okay. Great game with a sort of anti-climatic ending. Anti-climatic, because it's easy to get into situation when you'd get stuck at the last level, unable to pass it. For example I've passed all the game with nothing, but Dianne's pistol. I have it fully upgraded and I have no other upgraded weapons. Pistol is not enough to kill the charging mutant before it gets to you in the last 'level'. I earn about 10 rp per replay now if I focus on other zombies... And I'm not going to grind through 150+ replays to get mounted weapon (I 'm not even sure if it would work there, because you are not in car) or even more replays to buy and unpgrade a new weapon.
Good graphics, bad gameplay.
QTE game is not supposed to be a game about 'learn by heart all points, where QTE would happen and spam-click there, hoping that one of your clicks would get at start of the event, because you are given less than second of time to click and there is about 0.5 second lag between click and hero taking action'. Huge disappointment. 1/5
Good game. Nice (though weird) story. Some annoying moments at 'timed' portions of the game. Tapes are a little disappointig. First of all - there are no subtile, meaning that people, who are not speaking English well, like me, may have difficulties with understanding it. Second - what is the reason to have something with _voice_ included into game, if whoever (or whatever) you are using to voice it are unable to act. Listen to the tape number 2. *bored voice* Blah-blah-blah *something blows up* *same bored voice* Security breach in progress.
This game needs something to do about people getting stuck in alien spawning zones. Even a 'kill yourself' button would be fine, because it's highly annoying to have main boss dead only to stuck in the terrain around it. With no alien around to kill you.
When someone would ask me how I've earned my first million - I'll proudly answer that by hitting pinata with a sword. If they'd ask - what I've spent it for - I'll answer that I've bought a lightsaber, of course!
The game could be awesome if not for pay-or-wait-for-hours stamina system. As if developers can't make money from selling boosts, units, etc. Maybe make battles a bit more difficult and ressurrection a bit more expensive, so players would need either to buy gold (to ressurrect units) or grind through lower level battles, so the output of money going to developer would be the same, but players would be occupied, instead of focusing their attention on something else and losing interest in this game.
I wish deveopers to do something about weird turn counting of some cards. Or fix their description. Not that it makes any problems for me, but getting hit by confusion and confused for 6 turns instead of 2 is annoying. As well as some buffs, whose duration is stated to be several turns, but staying longer/shorter
Hey, thanks for the comments! You actually need to kill all dinosaurs before trying to open a door. Maybe you missed a few slower ones... :-)
