I got unlucky and all the open networks only had one device. So while I had hacked all available networks for a newb, I only had 38.58 SFC and could not progress. This has earned you 2 stars.
I have a few complaints. First off, I enjoyed the game but feel like more could have been done with it.
The movement in this game is tedious and I honestly wouldn't have even mentioned it if you allowed the use of arrow keys to move through dungeons.
The upgrades could be better I guess, but I didn't care too much seeing as this is the first one.
When defeating a boss, you should be allowed to choose to go to the previous floor for some grinding. One time I progressed, and because of the change in difficulty level per floor, I spent 4 runs being beat by the first monster I faced despite other upgrades and had to wait until a treasure chest spawned next to me to actually progress. This is utter bs.
I have a few things to say about this game. First off, it wasn't as great as I was hoping it would be, so I gave it a solid four stars because it was decent. Maybe that's just because nothing can beat Egoraptor telling me about his spaceship being better than mine, or that this game took a completely different route than previous ones. Seriously, you didn't even bring back the guy who loaned $400 to you in the first game, and there were somehow LESS upgrades. My main dissapointment is that there were no achievements to speak of, so I felt there wasn't anything to really aim towards short term. It just wasn't the same.
I have some complaints:
- After you fix the amulet, Jinx can no longer fully recover mp in her sleep
- There should be more quests to make it feel less grindy
- It should be made more obvious that you can use the vinewood wand to make vines appear on cliffs
- I have no idea where I'm supposed to find the equipment/armor crafting recipes
- Characters should be allowed to give items to each other in battles
- I suggest some minor healing spell for an early-ish party member
- It's irritatingly inconvenient for Jinx to have to re-equip her weapons every time (I appreciate the vinewood one, but the Sharp Claw should be a given for the cat)
My biggest problem with this game isn't how apparently incomplete it is or any of the actual content, it's the fact that the words on the menus often times disappear and/or lose all functionality at random points in game. It takes a lot of patience to play through a game that doesn't work correctly.
As a side note, I would also appreciate it if you could incorporate some story into this game, because it feels like it's lacking.
I actually have a lot of content for this game, but it was a project built long before I published my first game, so I'm releasing content as I go. The issue of disappearing images in the shop has been mentioned before I'm hoping this update resolves it.
This game has a lot of potential, I'm really excited to see the new updates! A few additions I would suggest is the addition of a quest tab so I can keep track of what I'm trying to find, a person specifically there to give you tips on how the game works and what to do to progress, and an autosave feature for when my game crashes despite using the latest version of chrome.
