Learned much later that you need 1000 pages to upgrade the scrolls all the way. Only just got 200 at about 90,000 depth, but I think I'm going all the way now. Aiming for the millionth depth!
The addition of pages really had the idea of making the game last forever behind it. It takes around 25,000 depths in order to finally get 100 pages for the first scroll.
