@DOA75 - read the description it's based on the Advance War games for GBA and DS - which go back to an even older Nintendo game - which is the basis of quiet a few other game brands that put their unique spin on it - incl. Command & Conquer.

@mrhoo - what do you expect from a free to play game? As far as the art goes I am taking it personaly - as I am responsible for the look and feel of this game and feel strongly about the atmosphere we have created and the quality we aimed for - after all this is a flash game and not a console version with a huge team behind it. This game was created mainly by 3 guys in their spare time... In no way are we trying to compete with the professional approach of the AW teams... it's a different league...

@thechat - no it does not... and your reasoning behind it is strange - but hey... most people seem to like the game and with the added badges it's a lot of fun.... yet compared to other games on here the 1 is a big fat joke... and I am glad you are pretty alone with that vote...

@IanIanIan - who is putting down AW? It's the best strategy game out on the portable consoles. I wouldn't dare critise it. All I am saying is it's got to be better... and we were just trying to make a free to play flash game like it.

@Jaywalker2 - Prodigy's point has been stated in the description - the way he went on about it was out of line though... There has to be a difference between a free to play flash game and a fullblown console game - even more so when it's been around for ages and had the AI and UI polished in 3 or 4 versions. @aguspal - the initial design had a 800x600 screen but it had to be chopped to fit the kongregate website.

@Pr0d1gY - get over it. It's not an advance wars clone - as it's not a 1:1 copy. It's a take on the popular game play trying to make it fun & FREE in flash for people to enjoy. The coders and artists spent a lot of time creating something like this and I think they should be proud with the results. Your comment is simply pathetic, mate. Get a life.

The badges were added today and should be online tomorrow... as for the level editor - it's not quite that simple to balance the game and the current tool is not userfriendly enough... BUT there will be a sequel if the game is doing well enough... and from the feedback so far the editor and the undo button top the list of additions. The older version of the game is multiplayer only and has been online for years. http://www.gamedozer.com/battalion/

@Sayoonara - it's just you... :) As these little guys have way smaller heads... @BlackCia - Yes... if you bothered to read the description you would see how stupid stating the obvious is... @sheepwshotguns - the older multiplayer version has an editor - and we decided to leave it out for now as balancing a level and creating a map that is solvable for the ai is not as easy as the final maps make you think. Thanks to all the good feedback... and we will be working on a sequel if this game does well enough.

To all those comparing it to the original AW on GBA and DS - of course it's better... It's a huge team behind the scenes to make better graphics, better dialogues, better sound fx and music and finetune the game to max. That's why they charge you to buy the rom - and good on them it's worth every cent. This game on the other hand is the work of 2 coders and 1 graphic artist [with additional help from musicians and other artists] - and it's done in flash [which cuts speed and special effects down to a minimum]. BUT... You get to play it for free! It's that simple - quality has it's price. You are welcome to play AW and give this one a miss - your choice - but there a lot of people who do enjoy the game and the fact that it is for free...
