I rather like this game because it reminds me heavily of this other RPG. (Cough, MARDEK, Cough)
Nonetheless, I feel that several things could use improvement; perhaps a lower XP prerequisite for levelling up, and a revision to the money system. Revision meaning that either monster drops are multiplied heavily, monsters be revised to drop gold, or lower prices in the shop. As demanding as the people seem to be, they are actually right for the most part. This game has a lot of potential, and it would be a shame to waste it by leaving the flaws as they are.
Guys, the best strategy with the Church is to go with it, until they ask for food for the Dia de los Muertos celebration. If you decline the request, they'll be very patient. Just take advantage of the morale boost you get from the Church (and the fact that your useless secondary leader is being helpful) and then begin to utilize the Church's events. Yes, you will lose 3 survivors in the process, but they can easily be regained once your city becomes big enough to house people.
I think a good idea for the game's PvP system would be to add a tiering system, which would regulate who gets paired up with who in PvP. Ideally, it would keep exceptional players from farming newbies and allow for more entertaining matches.
People who enjoy this game need to realize that while there are a lot of noobs who have bad decks out there, players do get very unlucky hands in the beginning. No card game is based off of skill; merely luck. Skill is merely an attachment to a card game.
It gets annoying when a level 3 character somehow always gets it's rare weapon on the SECOND TURN and meanwhile I can't even get the crucial card I need. And also, SOMEHOW it always knows which strategy I'm going to use.
GLITCH: If you refresh without saving after claiming your final weapon from your respective martial faction, the weapon will disappear and you will receive only the "Farewell for Now" message.
Gambler: Okay, here's a 10. Now, higher or lower?
Me: Pffft, that's easy. Lower!
Gambler: Oh, it's an Ace! I take all your money. Come again~
*10 minutes of gold-grinding later*
Me: Alright, let's try this again.
Gambler: Here's a 6! Higher or lower?
Me: Lower.
Gambler: OH, it's a 2! Better luck next time~
*IRL*
Computer: -smashed-
It'd be nice if we could turn the autosave off. Or at least set a custom interval for the autosaves. Because some of the statements I made I thought were going to put me in favor of my preferred factions, but it actually gave me the opposite, resulting in me having to either do a long period of grinding or start the game over.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Attention all you dumbasses that find the ending to be crap and completely nonsensical, first off, the boat DOESN'T run out of gas. It merely stalls in the middle of the water. Also, about the familiar growl and roar earlier, try and remember that your spouse says that they were bitten at the hospital. -_- Now do you idiots get it?
ATTENTION ANYONE WHO DOESN"T KNOW: In order to counter-glitch the fact that G-key is broken, simply pause the game, select Save & Quit while your companion's down, and then continue your game. Your companion will be up and at 'em, good as new. Thumbs this up so people can see this.
It would be nice if clothes had some sort of functionality, other than making your player look badass. For example, perhaps Cargo Pants adding a little to your maximum weight limit, perhaps around 2-5 lbs. And maybe different shoes can increase your run speed by a little bit.
This game is possibly one of the most disgusting ones I've ever experienced. However, nevertheless, I'm satisfied with playing it. I only play it for the badge, though...
