If you're needlessly reductive, sure, then the game is boring.
Ok, I got gud (and a bs-overpowered ring to carry me in the early game) and got to the kids-- and then the poison-splash lizards killed literally all of the children I saved in two turns, so now I can't progress, probably due to some flag not triggering. Can't get the kids to the exit if they died, I suppose. I was forced to kill myself and end the game as a failure. I get that you can't fix it due to having deleted your old dev tools, I'm just saying that I'm leaving this game with a bad taste in my mouth.
Haha it is a roguelike, it's meant to be difficult. My favorite roguelike (DCSS) has about 2-3% win ratio in tournament. Choose your fights, get back often to fight monsters one at a time.
