The concept for this variation has been around for a while now, but it's nice that it has been brought to this platform. Now we have this for Kongregate, Steam has Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, Android/iOS hav Tic-Tactics, and for the truly dedicated, there's always pen and paper. :P
The strategy for each of these is drastically different, however. Tic-Tactics allows you to send someone to an already won board, but you can't send someone to the board they just played from, adding a much deeper level of strategy. This one let's you play anywhere if you're sent to a won board, making for much quicker games.
Lastly, ties simply make a dead square. Tic-Tactics has it where either player can use a tie board for the winning line. While I'm partial to the deeper strategy in Tic-Tactics, this is a fun, light version to get people interested. Nicely done!
@lunarlegend - Since it's a story-line event, the Dev uses that to prevent you from getting the crystal too early. Once you do the story tasks in Savina, it'll open up like normal.
I took it that he had done everything in Savina like he should have. There's no way to get outside Savina once you even learn of the existence of the crystal. So I gave him a cheat-based solution.
Am I the only one that noticed and thought it weird that our summoner friend (who can summon ANY monster) is perfectly happy summoning bandits? Did they somehow lose their humanity upon stealing from others? Is there a mysterious cabin he lures the bandits to, only to summon them for your enjoyment and their destruction?!? While the Gold Demon is forefront, Luvannon may be the true demon here...
@hayoob2 - You just get a "skill" with a chance activation. Eg. Double Damage 30% chance. Pretty good, but not worth having the lower stats in some cases.
@minijay31614 It adds a bit to your crit chance, but where it really comes in handy is with the relic Combo Ledger, which adds damage to your attacks based on how much of a combo you've built up.
@Dacomb - He fixed that somewhat. It only applies to members that you would pick up, so you can start with one of each squad member, which actually makes it a lot easier.
The fact that you can get the silver medal on the 3rd section boss level and STILL not beat the boss is just wrong. Those black balloon balls that follow you are a great way to make the boss more difficult, but new ones spawn way too often. When I beat the boss the first time, I spent a full minute afterwards popping the balloon ball following me.
@SimpleHarmonic I encountered the same problem. It took a while for me to get it worked out, but it should get fixed if you keep switching minions. Eg. Swap positions of minions in your within your team, and try putting the minion that left your team in a new position, either in your box or in your team. With some playing around, you should be able to fix it.
@Silverwolfjapan When you get new minions at the hatchery, they either go into your party or into storage. The guy on the right in the lobby keeps any extra minions you get.
From the countless times I've played the tower, my biggest problem has been only one thing. The circle and the spikes are not actual representations of when they hit each other. Many times, I would think I hit a spike, take my fingers of the arrow keys thinking I'd died, then screw up an otherwise perfect position. I'm hoping that the sequel's graphics match the "hitboxes" for the ball/spikes.
@dustins111 The switches do in fact do something. The first time you see one, it is to activate the exit, but afterwards they are to activate the Ace. Once you hit the switch, you have to find and get the Ace.
@ Sceptre22in - You also have to take note of the additional requirements below the stats. For the Toothbrush, the zombie must have "calmly tasted three sweet products to make its hygiene behavior re-emerge." In other words, calmly eat an apple, lollipop, and chocolate bar.
I found a glitch. When you have a hat equiped and your unit is upgraded or levels up, the hat effect isn't added to the new stat values. It can be fixed by unequiping and reeguiping the hat, but it's time consuming. Tell me if you've also seen this.
