The French played a bigger part in manpower, young french men streamed to join the ranks of the army to defend their homeland. If the french would have fallen the British would have been in for a h*ll of a clusterf*ck.

Hmmm, according to Wikipedia Britain actually contributed more men, and also we probably wouldn’t have been attacked by the Kaiser had we stayed out; before the war Germany and Britain were sorta friends, it was only because of a long standing pact with Belgium that we got involved – and then again the only reason France didn’t fall is because we joined the war on their side.
