Hi,
First of all, I really liked the game, I’ve just got a couple of pieces of constructive criticism for you.
Firstly, the control mechanism felt a little bit sticky – that is to say, it feels like it takes a wee bit too much effort to get the ship to move, and then it decelerates rather quickly. It also makes cornering a nightmare!
Secondly, while I like the mechanic of the missiles, they are IMHO just a touch overpowered; in the earlier stages they seem to kill in one shot, and if you save enough for the homing upgrade (which isn’t that difficult, but balanced for the game) you can ride out about 2 waves simply by using missiles.
I found myself not using the shield very often; whether that’s down to my playstyle or something else, I’m not sure.
Also, the menu system looks a touch clunky… not sure what you could do to improve it however.
I loved the backdrop within the levels themselves; I feel it toed the line between “beautiful” and “distracting” exceptionally well.
The units were really well implemented, although I would perhaps like to see different kinds introduced earlier; I personally found that it dragged on a touch just playing the same enemies over and over.
Oh, and the title is awesome. Don’t ever change that.
Overall, I really really like it, and it has great potential :)
Good luck with the game, I hope it does well on here.
(also, FIRST.)
