Quite a fun variation on the "make something fly" genre. A shame I can't get the Badge of the Day achievement to register any Sweet Impacts. Bug report filed.
Pretty reasonable proof-of-concept as edugames go. I did find a few typos that let it down a bit ("bowl" instead of "bowel" in a few places, for example), but I still stayed up longer than I'd intended in order to get to Attending :-)
Some suggestions. At the moment there's no reason not to try every test in the book in order to make your diagnosis. I imagine that wouldn't be much fun for the patient! Maybe a system that rewarded the player for making a diagnosis on minimal (but sufficient) tests for bonus credits? It might encourage people to be more methodical about how they diagnose conditions.
Secondly, a bit more feedback could really help. When you misdiagnose you're given the proper diagnosis, but it would be good to have an explanation of what you missed in either the symptoms or diagnosis. The occasional "if you had [performed X] you would have found [symptom Y]" could be a good learning opportunity, especially if you implemented the bonus credits idea above.
For future releases, would it be possible to split the sound controls into sound effects and music? Sometimes I like to listen to my own music when playing a game, but still hear the sound effects of what is going on.
Just for reference, Wellington is in the North Island of New Zealand, not the South Island. The largest city where it's placed in the game is my home city of Christchurch. But hey, at least it's on the map in this one :-)
