@Dark Mark Nice. I had a situation where I played Master Thief, the opponent played Counterfeiter and I got their Master Thief swapped with mine, effectively giving them two Dens of Thieves in the end. Truly love these weird combos that come up very occasionally.

You can skip it if you want. Or just buy some kreds with your phone credit. It's a fun addition to the game. Worth it if you like challenges.
I don't think it's a great idea, actually. I prefer to put Lance as backup and have Anna, Matt and Natz on the field. That way, I can cast Reflex (Anna), Protect (Matt) and Barrier (Natz) on turn one, so I get a boost to defence, maigc defence and evade. Just my opinion, anyway :)

If you're going for epic difficulty, here's a few tips :
1) SKILLS. Defence buffs are really important in order to keep you alive. Remember, your first goal is to survive. Protect and Barrier will turn into key spells, upgrade them asap. Healmore is still a little more important than them though. Apart from them, upgrade the spells you need the most, don't randomly upgrade everything because you can.
2) FOOD. You NEED coffee, pineapples and chocolate. ESPECIALLY coffee.
3) EQUIPS. Upgrade ONLY the equipment you need at the moment, so you can save your precious items for upgrading what you really need.
4) BATTLE. Always scan foes before attacking them. Always buff yourself whenever a single weak enemy is on the field, so you can survive the next wave. Use summons if you need to. Move people to backup if they're almost dead/stunned/syphoned.
Other than that, ALWAYS go back and ensure you haven't missed anything! Find all the chests, complete all quests, solve all puzzles. Good luck :)
This game is pretty good at the start, but when you beat the campaign you suddenly find out that there is nothing else to do! I suggest adding a multiplayer option if it would be possible, because the game would become much more interesting then.
If someone wants, the Battle Mountain's waves in the marathon where you fight every foe in the game are, in that order : Idols, Monoliths, Bushes, Big Bushes, Vicious Plants (Tree, Cactus, Shroom), Evil Worm , Wasps, a big Eyeball, Bats, Turtles , 2 waves of slimes, ghosts, rock bits, sprites, shellfishes, medusas, dogs, kitten forts, big spirit, birds, bears, squids, flowers, 2 waves of clays, eyes, runes, robot fishes, drillbot and claw, slingers (gun and sword), turrets, big defender, golems, elementals, crystals, dragons and the one enormous cat lol
