3/5 - No way to turn off the music. No way to go to a title screen when you're done/want to break for a bit. No way to save manually (though the autosave is nice, if it occurs with every change in the savestate.) Would be 5/5 just for being able to turn off the music.
Difficulty ramps up way too fast, but once you get some training going on, you're good to go. Once you can constantly train, your guys are fine. Just a little slow starting. 4/5
I'm also getting tired of seeing offensive comments made using Large Bullhorns with no way to remove them or block the offending player. When I blacklist someone because they're being offensive, I expect to have their messages removed from my interface. I'm fairly certain there's some legal violation going on here.
This is a balls out money grab cash store game. Everything about this game is designed to beg you for your cash. It would be a lot more enticing if it wasn't so blatant about it. Sort of the difference between a classy escort in a casino bar and Herpes Helen down on the corner. The game isn't sitting at the bar.
Still, I'm rating the game high because even without paying a dime to play it, the game is still fun. It has a lot of aspects that lend itself to enjoyable game play.
Wouldn't be a bad game if Cautious didn't cheat so much. Vegas wouldn't lay odds on the sudden luck it gets when it's behind. I have to lower my rating because of that. Every. Single. Time. Every one. Cheating...
This game is a rare gem here. I have never seen a game so compelling and so engaging on any other flash site. The effort that went into both story and gameplay is extraordinary. Were I in such a position, I would do more than simply rate this 5 stars.
Ok, you need to have a break between waves, don't put dark green text on a light green background, add a specific number of lives to protect, and if you aren't going to use money/mana/whatever to buy towers, then provide a regular timer on new towers instead of per kill, because they get rapidly outclassed.
Interesting concept, but hard to control, and very poor end-state recognition. Also, the mechanics for health seem poorly tuned. Sometimes you go down slowly, if at all, and other times you lose all of it without hitting something. Keep trying.
Not bad, overall. The initial stages have a steep learning curve, but otherwise not bad. As a strat game, it's rather fun. However, the AI has made several stupid mistakes that cost it the game. It could be improved to make this a truly great game.
Not bad for a first attempt, but there is little replayability. The darkness is a fun aspect, but the spikes are random, the bullets hare often hard to see, especially in the dark, and the checkpoints repeatedly save progress when standing on them. It would be more useful to track deaths, instead of giving a small number of lives, given how easy it is to die randomly. Also, the little guy builds up too much inertia. He likes to keep moving after the button has been let go. I give it 2/5 because frustration isn't fun. Playing the same level for three consecutive games isn't fun, either. Keep working on it, though. It has promise.
The only thing this game needs is a notice when you have reached the final upgrade level in a given upgrade. Right now it says the cost for the next level, but you can't buy it. Confusing at first. Love it. 5/5.
