I love this game, but spearmasters are not good. They get killed so easily even though they have the second highest armor rating. They get easily weakened when up against one halberdier or swordsmen. You have to upgrade the spearmaster highly very early in game for them to be as effective as they should be. Undead halberdiers are excellent though if you upgrade only them and their speed and defense.
