Addictive, but it's disappointing levels cap at 20 as eventually you reach a "Use bombs or die" point. (I do like the rate at which you get extra bombs though, they're not too plentiful or too scarce, it works well)
Tbh, I *far* preferred the graphics of Battalion: Nemesis. Other than looking uglier, gameplay is pretty much the same as before (which is good, as the gameplay was good before).
Good, but waaaaay too easy, just like the previous one. The last 20 levels really drag on when you've had the minigun since before the second boss... The variety of upgrades is good, but it's let down by the fact most of them are superfluous.
Still, the cutscenes kept me playing :p
As has been said, a save/continue option would be good. Also, it's quite difficult to dodge and aim at the same time, especially with the beam weapons. Still, I like the music, and it's a fun game!
I really like this! I haven't played the original, but this is a brilliant variation of the classic brickbreaker-style game.
Just a few niggles, that have been said already; health should reset at the beginning of each level, as otherwise you just have to sit around at the end for ages waiting to heal.
And the level after the third boss, with the two sets of 2xheal/2xbuilder blocks is insanely difficult, since they heal faster than people can do any damage. (It's not *impossible*...I managed to take out one of the sets, after getting a lucky series of 'splosion hits on the same healer block...but I've failed to recreate this feat on the other side after fifteen minutes of trying...)
Still, it's great fun to play, and I really like the music! Awesome game :)
Quite fun...well, other than the horrible guilt of sending wave after wave of men to their deaths. It would help if morale was boosted by ground gained though...I'd taken the Germans rightmost trench, had a guy climbing out to take victory...and then my guys surrendered. Also, it'd be good if you could retreat units or merge them, as it's annoying having to take a morale hit by sending low-health units forward to make space in a trench for healthy ones.
It's a bit unbalanced; you die waaaay too easily when you have melee weapons, and then it's pretty much impossible to die once you have the guns, I just got bored after 50k. Also, I don't see the point in the chainsaw? I couldn't see any advantage over the axe; tbh I thought the axe was actually better...
That said, it's an awesomely fun game, still gets 5/5 :)
It's not bad, a little short perhaps. The main problem I have is that it reminds me so much of Retron (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/364254)... :/ There's nothing wrong with the game or the concept, I'd probably really like the game if I'd seen it first, but I just feel Retron did it first and did it better :(
(That said, I think your collision detection is a bit better than Retron's!)
Pretty good! The gameplay threatens to get repetitive, but the different nature of each of the characters keeps it fresh, and the story kept me playing :)
A few niggles remain from Achilles though, like your character auto-targeting enemies...which gets annoying when he's looking at the retreating guy on horseback while the swordsman you're far more concerned about is stabbing you in the back...
Also, I'd've imagined the Undead wouldn't have any blood :p
Still, awesome game!
I complete level 26 using one less bomb than I'm allowed...and it says "Stage Failed"? Surely I should get a bonus or something...
And speaking of bonuses, the "bonus" levels are just confusing. I thought this was a puzzle game, not a "lol, splodez!" game, which is pretty much what the bonuses are. They're just boring+pointless.
That said, I quite like the game, and the puzzles are challenging enough.
Good! Fun enough that I actually want to play it again, even after completing normal mode :p
Could use a little more info though; sometimes it's not very obvious what you're meant to be shooting (e.g. the blast doors in the "hammerhead" mace sections, or the missile sections in the final level) And I died twice on the missile truck before I realised the snowballs gave you health... And I only discovered the top cannon on the walker when I tried to make it jump :p (That said, the walker section was AWESOME, I really liked that bit!)
So yeah, some instructions would be helpful, even just something like "Shoot this!", and some basic info like "Contains health if shot", or "You're fighting for justice!" ;)
Still, great game!
Loved the first one, and this is more of the same. However, I find the speed settings too limited; even the fastest setting is way too slow when you're sitting around waiting for those puny humans to die!
And has been said, it's damned hard to infect Madagascar/Cuba!
