This is a great, original game. And it has a wonderful reward system, too. The entire time playing, I constantly felt the "Oh my god my character is so strong now" feeling that most games only give you in the last quarter or so of play time. Great balance, great gameplay. Just wonderful.
Whenever I see something that claims to be a "unique shooter" or "unique something else", I like to check out that claim. It's usually complete BS, and this one is no exception.
To all developers: Please, please stop making "puzzle" platformers where the only real puzzle is how anyone gets past the enemies. Puzzles are supposed to make you think about what to do next, not make you time things.
Another great game by IIAOPSW. Well done, IIAO, even after playing through it multiple times some of the levels still leave me confused.
inb4 "TOO CONFUSING 1/5"
I've gotten so addicted to this game that I have begun programming it into my TI calculator. And once I finish that, I'll finally have something to do in psychology class!
@SlayerOfPersians I almost had that problem... I accidentally put it in in a way that my second ship launching code was completely separate from the first, and was launching one each frame... I caught on when I was getting 61 enemies every two seconds instead of 1.
Actually it's just inspired by a level on one of the old Castlevania games in which blocks fell from above in a pre-ordained pattern, all I did was make it 3D and random for funsies.
Great start, but many bugs are obvious ones which should have been caught and taken care of before the game was released. Also, the classes seem a bit unbalanced, with the wizard being by far the strongest. The unbalanced class thing is in pretty much every game, so I'm not going to factor that into the rating, but many of the bugs, as I said, should have been taken care of before the game was released. They are a nuissance, but most don't ruin the game, so I'm going to go 4/5 here for now. Will probably be raised to a 5/5 once the bugs are taken care of though.
