It's a nice idea, but to have all that and no save feature after the gauntlet, that's rough. After a while you can get pretty consistent in the beginning, but one bad draw or a slip at the gauntlet and you're done.
It was brutal, but I changed my clicking order, plugged in a new mouse and told myself it was easy, took a deep breath and beat 39 on bonus. Now it's just the last 5. Not easy for an old man but I finally did it! Fun and challenging, maybe a bit too much for some.
I liked the story better than the combat, because the challenging bit is only at the beginning. When you get 3 members or more it kind of stops being hard. Still a very neat game.
The game is still stuck after you finish it, which means you can't score the trophies anymore and it won't acknowledge you finish it 3 times and you can't get the gold save file. Too bad because the idea itself is pretty good. The manipulator is tactical but it still took me long, I went with the scoundrel and health upgrade summons but this also takes long. The damage is almost all colour based, so as long as you have about 2x30 in the end it matters very little. I was quickest with the warrior, some spread upgrades and the lowest armour breaker skill in the list.
I can tell you for a fact we would never cause a zombie outbreak. And, sometimes people had to eat tulips because of famine, doesn't mean they were in a cult! ;)
It's more a long than a hard game. If you finish the game, bring 5 survivors to a new town and change the difficulty, you will barely notice any change.
I put the armadillo in the right spot the first time. Is that weird? The comments were helpful otherwise, just the 2 tips I needed. I didn't need the walkthrough.
I won't say it's bad, but getting the money for upgrades is very tedious. Also the game is lagging on kongregate, so the mine field killed me every time, while there is no way to save the game after the three battles before you get killed. Concept is good. The game itself is actually not that long, but the upgrading takes too long.
Well, there are many ways to play. Units tend to die fast on the harder modes. The beginning is especially hard when equipment is bad. Live through that, and a lot can work. Easy is to hang some health regen stuff on the guys and whatever dual purpose equipment. I did ok with Warrior/rogue and cleric/ranger. You can put the cleric in the front but you don't have to. A cleric in the back with a censor and without a tower shield is of course much faster... You put a buckler on the rogue and all the speed enhancement on the ranger. Then you can do a powerful pin (ranger) + coup de grace (rogue) combo on move 1.
