This has to be my favorite series of horror games ever. Some details I liked the most was that Bert the Killer Clown followed us down to the bottom level, but we ended up getting to him first. Also, SPOILERS, if you look at the final chase where we are the monster, it's the exact same as the chase in the first game but from the monster's perspective right down to the pipe coming out of the wall.
Where do I even start? The entire trilogy is brilliant, but 'Deeper Sleep' has to be my favorite. I love the callbacks from the first game. I love that comment about 'Nietzsche quotes, badly translated' on the bookcase on the first screen, considering the first game opened with a Nietzsche quote that wouldn't make sense until the third game, you clever person you! I loved the changing clown poster, which just made everything about 50 additional flavors of unsettling. Even if we never escape the nightmare saving that little boy made it all worth it for me, it sucks that this version doesn't have the achievement for it! That deer head scared me silly, and I think I'm going to be having nightmares of white dress wearing women with long hair tonight!
God, I love this series. When I first played, it was really the atmosphere that got me. The first time you see a Shadow Person's face in the darkened section was horrifying, and it was only a glimpse out of the corner of the screen! I loved how that was the clearest you ever see their faces as well, all brown-ish and alien. The section when you have the close the door really fast had me going 'NOPE' the entire time. The only thing I don't like about the game on this site is that it didn't have the funny 'Stubborn Guest' achievement like on Newgrounds.
I really, REALLY love this series! I don't usually play difference games, but this was really fun. I find the difficulty to be perfect, although when I did get stuck it would've be better of the hints were a bit more obvious; sometimes I'd click 'shake' or 'reveal' and I'd miss the clue entirely! All in all, great game. Honestly though, I would have favourited for the art style alone :>
