Are You kidding me? I played it couple of months ago and though it was great. Today I had a whim to play it and though to my self "how do @#$ it was named?". Just out of the blue I checked kongregate (despite me being sure it was published somewhere else), and there it was. In "Hot New Games" with a publish date 2011-05-16.
Brilliant mind reading :)
aenh: You seem to miss my pint:
After 20 minutes of gameplay I want a brake. And I mean a break like in "turn of browser, computer, do something else, and come back to game some time next day".
And by "come back to game" I mean "continue from point where I left it", not "start from the beginning losing all my progress from previous gameplay".
Am I clear?
"The entire game is doable in under 10 minutes" aenh, Have You read my comment?
On intermediate I wasn't able to finish it in 20 minutes. Hell as far I could see I was in the middle (2 artefacts collected).
Plus "A save function would be awkward and fairly useless. " - I disagree. I tent to play during some free time in the middle of the day in office (while in work). For me having ability to save in any checkpoint wouldn't be "awkward".
Ok, this is a very good game. Except for one thing.
20 minutes of gameplay I'm still not allowed to make a save? In an online flash game?
That F#$%g REATARDED!!!
It's 1/5 until You rebuild saving system (then it will be 5/5)
"don’t worry, the new version with api causes the previous saves to be lost." -
WTF ?! I just lost all my saves and have to go through all the game again!. Yes, this is cind of "worring" me.
This game is terrible.
Controls are horror, and timing (wich is big issue in such games) is done badly.
Not even PS3 is worth such pain in the as.
Going back to Frets on Fire.
'instead of "press any key" you should let the player press SPACE or something. cos i started a new game every time i lost (and i lost often ;)' - Actually that is a reason why I did it on any key: You don't have to move a hand in order to start a play. And as You pointed: it easy to lose here. Especially on the beginning of the game.
But I'm planing to reconfigure controlling.
"try to add some specials" - hmm. Still thing thinking about it (live system, power ups etc.)
"let less obstacles come slower in the beginning and add speed and particles continously" - actually in the beginning only 20% off planed obstacles are on the screen and are added gradually. And I added max limit of obstacles because I didn't wanted 100% of screen to be filled with obstacles.
