I got really excited when I realized it was a Flipline game, expecting (from the artwork I saw) that it would be another game along the lines of the Cactus McCoy or Remnants of Skystone games. Instead, it's just another boring Papa game, this time with a somewhat McCoy-styled skin. Extremely disappointed.
The song that plays while I'm fighting sounds a LOT like a song from either Final Fantasy VI or Golden Sun, I think. Some type of game of that persuasion, at least. Like, I can hear it in my head as the song in this game plays. Just can't quite remember the game.
@Utherdoul: Holy crap! It actually worked this time! I guess they fixed it? I dont know. All I know is...I started a new game yesterday, and it didn't work. I started a new game today, and it did. Woo.
The in-game achievements don't register, meaning I can't get the "Cheeves in the Breeze" badge, meaning I can't complete the Elemental quest. I've placed a bug report to Kongregate, and it seems other have done this, too. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon.
Okay, so what the hell is this song called? The one that was playing once the game started the tutorial portion, I mean. I've heard it in three different games on Kongregate, now, plus I think I heard it in a commercial or something, once.
I don't like it when stuff like this is considered a "girls" game. Neither I, nor many other gamer girls, want to play games with "girly" subject matter. We want to play the same exact type of games as the boys want to play, usually.
This game would have been more enjoyable if the subject matter/theme were different.
Isn't the music in this from Remnants of Skystone? I swear to god what plays while you shop is in Skystone. Pretty certain I spent enough time playing that game to recognize it. 8/
This game has an interesting enough look to it, though it's pretty standard otherwise. The controls (for the Aeronaut? class, at least) need some refining. But it's still in Beta, correct? So that should resolve itself in time. However, since it IS still in Beta, I don't really see how the company can charge for the game.
I don't mind if they want to charge for the game after it reaches finished status, though. But it should really be all or none, at that point--either everyone should have to pay, or no one should have to pay. It makes it feel like the paying players are "cheating" by buying their way to better items, etc., in the game. But I suppose that's just a personal thing of mine.
Overall, I'd probably give this game 3/5, so far. Not great, but not bad, either.
