Frustratingly, I came back to this game after a long hiatus to see some much-needed fixes (particularly lag-reducing ones), but while my savegame still works fine, it no longer has Premium. I am sadface! Anyone got any ideas?
Among the many, many inexcusable design flaws in this game: Terrible unit scaling, terrible unit balance, no auto-next-wave button, a limit to 2x on speed, no "Next wave composition" without pausing, no ability to turn on and off music, no keyboard shortcuts for towers/traps, no preview for barricades... this game is an Alpha version of a decent game, but as a released game, it gets a solid 1 star.
While this game controls reasonably well, that's the only thing even remotely well done about the game. If I could give it a 0/5, I would. Everything from the weapon balance to the sound is utterly terrible.
This game looks like, plays like, and in every way resembles the work of a team of college students throwing together a Flash game for a week or two.
The balance is abysmal, the pacing is horrible, the story made me want to vomit, and the art is uninspired. The sound balance is god-awful and there's no way to mute sound from inside the game. All in all, if I could give a game negative stars, this game would be getting it.
PS: Maybe in the future you should spend more than a couple of weeks on your game, and actually QA it; this game certainly could have used both.
@Lunaraia - My Endurance build (huzzah, one map completed) has three OLP gems in traps , with 6 amplifiers (3 on each side, grade 23 at the moment). Right now I'm on wave 140 on this map, and my mana pool is up to 210mill and climbing at a truly staggering rate. :)
Each of the gems is giving me about a million mana per second, multiplied by however many enemies each hits with the Lime multi-shot. Oh, and they also strip off all the armor. Huzzah!
I'd have rated this 0/5 if I could. Sadly, I can only give this a 1-star rating, for a half-assed game which doesn't even pretend to be polished, balanced, or have sound effects that aren't blatantly ripped from Final Fantasy.
Frankly, the game is cute and entertaining, and the aesthetic is fantastic. The interface is unobjectionable (though there are elements that could use a little work). However, the game balance is terrible, simply atrocious, and the AI is little better. However, it was fun going through and 3rounding everything for great lulz, so 4/5 it is.
Pseudolonewolf:
I must say, I'm very impressed with the games. The dialog is fantastic, the music is excellent, even the art is good. The gameplay itself is not just a homage to the genre, but good in and of itself. I applaud you, sir.
I do have two concerns:
1 - You should be able to keyboard-navigate in the Plot Items submenu. Simply enable you to X into the submenu and then navigate with the arrow keys, as though targeting with the mouse.
2 - This one's a biggie. I have found no way of checking which Dreamstones I have! I've nearly completed the game, and have slain Annihilator, but I cannot figure out which Dreamstone I'm missing! This is very, very frustrating, as I don't really want to run to each and every Dreamstone location to double check...
