This has been one of the most enjoyable Medival Shorts-- I mean Angel-- episodes so far. All of the chicken and animal puns made me smile and sometimes giggle. After a coupled months away from the Medieval world, I really enjoyed regaining my footing on the world and recognizing characters I haven't seen in a long time. Stuff like, "Oh right, that guy is god," and "That guy who looks sleepy is from the asylum Dregg went to!"
When I realized Amber was about to fight the chickens, I actually audibly groaned because I didn't want to play through an RPG fight since I'm usually not a fan. I was really pleased that you took it in a different direction, and I found myself really enjoying using old mental math shortcuts I haven't touched since high school. Thankyou! Is this your first game? I like it! The art is simple and cute, and it's easy to tell what each object does. Objects stand out from the background, although the row of jars with the red jars confused me a little.
I love the girl's springy walk cycle! I could watch it for hours, it's so cute that it makes me giggle. I like that she stands when the game pauses. Her turnaround is a little buggy, (her movement only changes direction after a little jig,) which led to a few unnecessary deaths for me.
The game could use a button on the keyboard for pausing. It also would have been nice if it kept track of which levels I finished. The flags and the jumpy gummies are positioned somewhat oddly on their blocks, but this doesn't really hurt gameplay.
I don't expect to play Platform Maniac! again, but I will certainly check your page every once in a while to see if you make anything new c=
This was a really enjoyable puzzling experience! The music was relaxing, and I felt like the mechanics were presented in a way that made it easy to learn. The art felt simple and clean, and it made me really happy for some reason.
Some notes:
* When started playing, I immediately felt uncomfortable using the mouse to move the blocks. I actually picked up my art tablet and pen and used that for control, and then it felt really smooth and fluid to just send the tiles away. I think this would make a really good mobile game if it had more levels.
* For the most part, the icons indicating what kind of tile you're looking at are pretty clear. I did have a hard time when different icons were layered on top of each other (especially the rotating tiles.) It was also hard to tell the difference between a teleporting tile and a normal tile sitting in the way of a teleporting tile.
I'd love to play more levels! Thanks for the awesome game.
