None of those are what you are looking for. The process for creating save files in Flash has changed in recent years (and the guide I wrote was written 8 years ago), so the exact location of the new save files will be different depending on how the content creator has set it up. What you can do is create a new save in your desired game and see whether the chat.kongregate.com folder is created automatically or whether it creates its own folder. From there you simply swap out the files.

As I said before, the save location varies depending on the operating system and how the developer implemented it. For Windows 10 these files can be found in ChromeInstallLocation/User Data/Default/Pepper Data/Shockwave Flash/WriteableRoot/#SharedObjects/RANDOM_LETTERS/.

What about Windows 7? The laptop that I’m trying to transfer the files from is Windows 7. (As for the receiving end, I’ll try that when I figure out how to search for files in Win 10; I’m starting to hate this new computer already).

In Windows 7 they are located at AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\RANDOM_LETTERS\.

Firefox stores all of their cookies in a single file located in the Firefox profile folder. Info on how to find that folder is located here. For more instructions on how to migrate Firefox cookies you can follow the instructions on this page.

Chrome also stores all of their cookies in a single file, though it also stores cookies in the location I listed before. Info on how to find that folder is located here. You will want to copy the “Cookies” file in that directory. You will also want to copy the cookies directory I provided you before.

Yeah, you want to click the 3.4 version. You should download the version that is right for you. Are you programming on a Mac? Download the MacOS version. VisualStudio is the name of an IDE written by Microsoft for use on Windows machines. Visual Studio is the industry standard, so if you are interested in pursuing a career programming you should get familiar with it.

If you are using a Windows operating system go to this page and click the “Download Community 2015” button. Follow the instructions on the installer and choose the default settings. Be warned that this will download and install about 3GB worth of content to your machine (upwards of 6GB if you opt to install the advanced features). Once that is finished downloading and installing run the MonoGame SDK setup tool you have already downloaded (the VisualStudio version). Follow the directions in the installer. When you get to the “Choose Components” section you want to make sure OpenAL and Visual Studio 2015 Templates are both checked, then click the Install button.

Once the installation is finished run Visual Studio 2015. Click File > New > Project. A popup window will show and ask which template you wish to use. On the left side navigate to Templates > Other Languages > Visual C#. In the middle section, if you have properly installed the MonoGame SDK you will see an option to create a MonoGame project. Select any of the templates (MonoGame Windows Project is a good start), change the project name and location at the bottom, ensure the “Create directory for solution” checkbox is checked, then click “Ok”.

At this point your project is ready to go. In the solution explorer double click on Game1.cs to open it. This is the starting point for your game and this is where you should refer to the tutorial I linked to you.

That’s unfortunate. When I mentioned tools of the trade in the thread that does include a modern operating system (Windows 7 being the earliest recommended operating system [Vista has known issues with their development tools]). To be honest I don’t know of any valuable game engines that still support Windows XP and can’t really help you beyond this point with regards to getting your programming environment set up.

I’ve responded to the thread with an update and asked if somebody else with more expertise with older operating systems could give you a hand.

It is always hard to recommend anime. I don’t remember your tastes. I have also enjoyed bad anime simply because of the mood I was in at the time of viewing. I really haven’t seen any good shows lately. You can look at my MAL page and see if there is anything that interests you.

I am remaking it in Unity with the release of version 4.3 (2D tools). This will allow me to upload it to Kongregate as well since my primary language is C#. I have menus working and am currently working on the bullet logic using physics (look forward to some interesting interactions).

Due to school and the plate of 4-5 other projects I am working on I don’t think I will have this finished until the summer.

I don’t have the time or motivation to come back here nowadays. Homework and a backlog of games and whatnot. Hopefully I’ll have more time during the summer. Here, have some raw cookie dough and a tuning fork to tide you over for the time being.

Btw, maybe you can put 10 pixels for every advert on the page to maximize the money you can get from people visiting? As in, instead of the normal TYLENOL NEEDS banners you have have a spot the size of the ad banners but there are 10×10 pixels filling it and each 10×10 space has an advert in it.
