The rebound is actively detrimental in the early game, and the "fix" of the barrier becomes a chore to unlock when you can't do the 2 block "trickshots" to clear faster and get more boxite. It's faster to restart the game and unlock the barrier before ever buying the rebound. The mechanic would be interesting if there was any way to avoid the shot, but since you're a sitting duck it just becomes frustrating and absolutely not worth it.
It would definitely be convenient if you could autosell based on color/rarity. I would much rather sell items below a certain rarity than below a certain level.
The best way to beat crosscrosscross is to go through the loop normally to get the speed and jump upgrades, and when you get the last speed upgrade jump back to the last block before hitting the ground. You then jump to the small ledge under the goal and triple jump around the ledge. If done right there should be about 2 seconds to spare.
This seems to be a bug but if you pick up an object and put it inside of another, if you pick up both items together, they will float. It really trivialized the last level.
