For those who are interested, a couple of things about the bulletin board references: "Get Lamp" is a real documentary about interactive fiction, by Jason Scott. Regarding the creepy painting, there were a few comments about the likeness to Sid from “Ice Age.” I shared this with my wife and she said, “Hey! You tell them I painted that when I was *nine!*”
