Ahh, that's true, WahkanSunkmanitu! Thank you! Still, that doesn't seem like too significant a profit. Comparing it to the skinny red vial, which also turns one unit of each component into two units of product... the mushroom sells for 655.4E15, and the thorn sells for 1.6E18, for a total of 2.26E18. Each skinny vial sells for 4.6E18, a little over 2X the value of the components. So the two units of product combined is 9.2E18, or a bit over 4X the sum of the value of the components. Since the two units of blue-background vials sell for a total of 39.4E18, and the components sell for a total of 21E18, this doesn't quite reach 2X the component value. The blue-background vials aren't sold at a loss - whew! - but it's still less profitable than other products. I guess I was expecting the blue-background vial to sell for... well, what the red-jar-on-red-background sells for, as it turns out. (Though I may be wrong on my math here, too!) Thanks for explaining, though!
Something appears to be wrong about the proportions and prices of certain items. The red tilted vial on a blue background (I wish these components had names) sells for less than the sum of its parts. The seed sells for 16.4E18, and the skinny red vial sells for 4.6E18, for a total of 21E18 - but the blue-background vial only sells for 19.7E18. The player loses money by producing them, as a result.
Maybe the red jar on the red background, whose only component is one red vial on the blue background, sells for a fantastic amount to make up for it - I haven't been able to get there yet, so I don't know - but, even if that's true, it still makes the red-on-blue vial seem completely unnecessary.
Am I just looking at this wrong?
The "nothing can stop you" active upgrade is pretty useless. By the time you see anything approaching, you've hit it before you can activate the feature -- so you can only use it when you don't think you need to.
Meh. Very... meh. It's got some of the same problems as Whaa -- too unbalanced, uneven learning curve, fiddly controls. Like Whaa, it's pretty to listen to, but not exactly fun to play.
The gameplay is pretty unbalanced. Weapons upgrades and extra lives drop far, far too rarely to give one any real shot at getting through levels 10 and above.
