Kind fun for an idle game, I usually dont like them. But man, it takes me FOR EVER to load. kind of sucks to spend more time loading into the game than it takes actually checking my things.
Having played through the game now - things to fix for the next version IMO: 1) Hit rating/blocking really ruined combat for me. Note I have only played a melee guy though. 2) the 3 levels of attacks should show some sort of summary of damage. 95% it seems like it's not worth using the heavy attack. 3) The RTS portion of the game felt really tacked on. I would have much preferred more effort having gone into the "real" portion of the game and not have had it at all. 4) Already mentioned, but we need more to do with money since the shop items are horrid. 5) The crafting system is... very unfortunate, given the rarity of supplies. It might sound like I'm bashing the game, but really the things is everyone has seen you can do way better than this.
The amount of constant MISSES, especially in the early stages of the game is infuriating. I'd rather you give monsters 3x the health and not have a miss mechanic at all.
4/5 - this was a very fun mix of concepts, it really works. The downside is that I was spending most of my time getting resources and so I was barely paying attention to the map screen. I usually like watching my towers stomp the baddies. I also found this game VERY easy - I played on hard mode on every map on my first try and never even came close to having a monster hit my castle. My suspicion is that poison in sky towers is overly powerful.
Decently fun, but the impression that I get is that not as much effort went into this as Stranglethorn fever. I'll skip the common concerns that you probably already know (lag, mana). The resurrection sickness is unnecessary and just forces the player to sit there and wait. The cooldowns on abilities should reset after every fight also and some abilities shouldn't have a cooldown altogether (lockpick: just forces the player to sit in front of a chest waiting). More enemies would have been a plus, as I didn't find it very engaging to grind on boars for an hour in arena mode. Some abilities are also mostly useless - like recuperate, by the time you get it the bosses in the arena one shot you if they connect an attack anyway. For the next episode, I encourage you to give the players a sense of exploration and variety like you did with the first game.
I wish I could add more enemies but I've reached so many library limits in flash that I literally couldn't add more graphics! Thanks for the feedback, I'll take everything into consideration for the next episode!
I had fun for the first hour or so until I got a feel for how completely mental the energy regen portion of the game is going to be. 1 energy every 5 minutes when some single blocks take up to 4 energy to dig out. What?
I beat the game before realizing there was even a shop, woops. At least the upgrades came in handy during survival mode.
Easy strategy for the last half of the game:
You start with 10 souls
-put a booster block on the far right, with a piercing block on top.
-put a wooden block on the far left. You do this so that when monsters land on the other side of it, they are still a bit off the ground and your piercing block can still hit em.
-put a sticky block on column 3
-sell the wooden block, replace it with a booster, then a piercing on top of it.
-keep stacking piercing blocks on the first and last columns.
-you can put a second sticky on columns 5 and 7 if you think you need it.
-if you get ghosts, columns 2 and 7 should have an eye block
You can't fail if you do this
I had a good time, but I think the Frag Bombs are overpowered. If you scrape the cash together to upgrade them a couple times, just turn on autofire and watch as everything becomes deader than disco.
I tried really hard to give this game a fair shake, but I just can't. Level 15 is all I can stand - it's repetitive, the quests are a bugged and confusing mess, and I think I'm getting carpal tunnel syndrome already.
