A fun game except for a few balance issues. The graphics are smooth and the number of weapons are nice to choose your play style.
Some suggestions on how to improve: very easy game. I died twice before the 3rd stage, and after that cruised through everything after upgrading my sword fully. Making enemies cause more damage with the ability to add more hearts to your life bar would increase the challenge but keep it balanced. Nerfing the spells would also help. The placement of the armour games logo and the mute/pause buttons cause random clicks. Consider adding a border/larger border and putting them there. Not bad at all though
Ignoring the money grab, it's sad to see a game that should thrive on a sense of speed and the sense of having *just* make it be so slow. There are times when Fred seems to stand still and navigating around the various levels feels like a slog instead of a harrowing series of jumps. Maybe in the later levels, or with upgrades, this is improved, but instead of grabbing you, the earlier levels just bore
Looks like you learned a lot from old SNES games - I was getting a lot of Secret of Mana/Chrono Trigger vibes from the art style and gameplay (minus RPG fights, obviously). Great game, interesting story - keep up the good work!
Easily one of the best games one this site - certainly the best of its kind. And just when I was regretting not getting all the power-ups when I beat it, I find I can start again but with all my exp. Well done sirs, well done!
An easy way to fix the money (I've been grinding for several "days" just to get the row boat to move on because I bought the scuba gear first by accident) would be to increase the max wager a little more at the bar. Instead of $40 max, maybe $100?
Good game, fairly well executed. Only problem I see is that you cannot rotate to at least three edges of the box - it'd be nice to get a better angle on some of the shots. Of course, this could be done on purpose to make the game more challenging...
Awesome, awesome game. Wish it was longer. Two things though - level four (or whatever level you want to call the area you climb up to with the picks) needs a longer window for clicking to kill the guard who shoots at you. I found I could only kill him after fifteen or so tries, despite that I had figured out how to do it within two or three. Second, needs a mute button.
Way too easy. Also, this game really needs either more enemies, or more variations on enemies. Half the time it seemed like I was waiting for more enemies to come on screen to kill, rather than planning the best way to get around them
Had some trouble reading the text - not sure if it's just me but I could only see the first line with no clear indication of how to advance that particular person's speech. Not a bad game, a bit on the easy side otherwise.
Chris, you've made a great game! Needs a few minor adjustments though - considering making your pop-ups opaque or placing them in different places. I'm talking achievement notifications, etc. Where they are now sometimes interferes with what's going on on-screen.
Really, really addictive and well crafted. Although I can't really think of much to improve, I would say a minor detail that could be added is to make your character blink when you first enter a room to locate him easier. But at the same time, this such a minor addition to a game that does exactly what it should that it can be easily overlooked.
This game would have been a lot more interesting if it was just FASTER. I could pretty much dodge any bullet by the final level without too much effort, and even had time to go to iTunes and put on a song in between a wave.
Nice game. Be nice if there was a colour change indicating whether a piece had moved yet or not for quick reference, rather than trying everyone to see if they've gone yet or not.
Game concept is good and the evolution makes it interesting, but the game is missing a challenge - you literally can't lose because there are no enemies. Put a few in, make it a bit longer, and you'll see a definite improvement.
Very easy, very simple graphics. Although the gameplay is certainly rewarding, I'd like to see possibly some changes in the duck as its stats get upgraded (bigger wings as flying rank goes up, etc). As well, perhaps a little more control during the races.
