Some tips I found to be a bit useful.
Attacking sails causes the enemy ship's AP to fall. You can easily win just by getting the three ships below 15 AP.
Always consider boarding at the beginning of a battle to get rid of a ship.
Keep enough money to repair your flagship if it is destroyed or you might have to reset the game.
You lose a battle if your middle ship is destroyed, upgrade accordingly.
Use stars to upgrade for AP at first to use each ship to attack more than once per turn. If it is maxed out, a ship of the line can do 2 quick shots AND 1 hull shot. This was incredibly useful for the Dutchman battle.
Ships battles are great sources of WP to get new ships and upgrades.
Retreat and bulk up if you’re losing a ship before your turn when at siege.
Once you unlock the cities with gunpowder for trade, use them to make millions. Dominica and Caracas are close enough that you can do 2 trips of gunpowder before the diminishing returns kicks in.
Hope any of these help, happy sailing!
Starglade, try using the tongue to make a tighter circle. I noticed that the gas planet moons would explode a lot faster if there was a smaller circle to make instead of a long one. Just swing around a cloud near it until you're able to get as close as possible before you attach to it.
Getting to the end of adventure, barely made it out of that final cave on blind luck. Look ahead to see the giant gap that requires flight and notice that you're out. FUUU-
I think I just made it impossible for myself to win...fell down the huge vertical shaft and all I can do is jump (no long distance or high, just a basic jump) and shoot blue...
Don't underestimate the use of the remote bomb. It won't blow up when hit by other bombs and it makes maps like Achilles cake compared to the parachute bomb.
So on hard, am I supposed to get assaulted by a pack of over 40 mad bulls all at once? Kind've gets rid of the strategy aspect and makes you hope that you have mana/strong units to kill them...
So flash player stopped responding as I lost. Now I'm stuck in an endless loop of "Your Conquest has Failed" taunting me over and over. It's a bit depressing.
Adding onto my other comment, if you're going to add a delay between when the mines actually start disappearing during the bubbles only, make it so there's a delay in when they return. I still got a mine even when my power-up was nearly over. Also, for the shooter, when the power-up is gone, I think that the shots shouldn't just disappear instantly but should continue until they hit something/fly off the screen. Lastly, it may be better to (slightly) change the length of the power-ups (good/bad) while in bullet-time because it doesn't seem worth it sometimes to have to wait for the bubbles to slowly come while you're wasting a power-up. It might be better to have it only work in ultimate since it'll give more incentive to pick it up.
The game isn't too bad. What I hate is that bubbles only doesn't always seem to work like that because I still get a few mines during it, even though the power-up is still on.
Also, if you aren't doing well on the badge because of items, you can try this. If you won't be playing the game after the badge, reset your data and only do the missions that give items that are useful to you, like the pitchfork. Items that you haven't unlocked will not show up in survival. Or you can switch to a different computer without a save file if you value what you have already done. This little thing helped me get a lot higher in my survival score.
