I'm a math teacher, and at a couple of points throughout the year, this is a game I use for extra credit because of how brain intensive and logic / geometry based the design is. Fantastic concept, clearly a lot of time was spent creating challenging levels.
The consistency of nerdook's releases is refreshing when you consider the absurd span of time between some games and their sequels that don't arrive for two years. Like Sonny and Sonny 2. The great gaps between Bloons Tower Defense releases. On the other hand, spewing out games so quickly really prevents quality control and originality. Most of the ideas and animations are simplistic and repetitive in these games. I'm a bit of a badge fiend, but I've avoided getting most of nerdook's because I simply can't stand how repetitive they've been since the first.
This game is truly terrible. The constant loss of save states alone is a nuisance, especially when one has defeated Entity and yet somehow not earned the badge for doing so despite not using anyone else's save games. The negative effects aren't creative, just annoying, as is the incredible repetitiveness of each level. The missions are pointless, and all you do is continually blast things. Graphically this game might be nice, but otherwise it completely lacks substance of any kind.
For anyone who is having trouble with ninjas despite fireballs, here are a couple more pointers. First, make sure you have towers at the very beginning as well as at the very end. The early ones will cause them to use their smoke bombs at the beginning so they wear off before they get to your gems, allowing later towers to wipe them out. Another suggestion for later levels with particularly frustrating ninjas is to use many Dens at entrances upgraded to Ballistas. Since multiple bolts will fire at once, even after their smoke bomb goes they can get hit by later explosions, killing them swiftly. Adding critical bonus to these can make early ninja deaths very common. As for boss ninjas, spamming fireballs really is the only way.
Oh, and on a side note, to all those complaining, monkey appears after you buy BOTH golden cart and hang glider. Use hang glider not far from the ground and he'll appear. Worm is similar, but with the dumpster stuff instead. Make sure you've got the bat!
I'm having the same problem as some other people. Usually before I even get 10 points, the thing tilts wildly to one side and trying to turning it back the other way does nothing.
TehGus, use the green piece and put it as far to the left as you can without it falling. Then take the long on and center it, it should slant slightly to one side because of the green one. Then the + piece goes on the right side of the slanted piece, tilted so it looks like an X. Lastly, the three balls go GENTLY to the left of the X.
(Part II) Now that you have 3 rocket towers, build up your defense by upgrading wall and get another 5 repairmen. You will repair damage quite fast now. Still add a few gunmen here and there, they're relatively cheap. Upgrade missle quantity for all towers until max, then fire rate, then damage. At this point you should be in the mid twenties in level, and you should barely have to do anything except pick off trucks or flying guys occasionally. Now you have some choices. Get another 5 repairmen (15) either way. 1. Spam gunmen like hell. They'll start easily picking off flying guys jeeps, but watch out, they can't get suicide trucks. Option 2. Get EITHER Old Glory or the Space Laser. DON'T GET BOTH. Space laser is generally better, but Old glory is good at picking off suicide trucks. Max your wall at your lesiure, and continue on to max your weapon of choices while still adding gunmen and the occasional repairman. No prob!
Here's how I beat the Campaign Mode, and it was pretty easy. Beat level 1 and buy two gunmen. Beat level two, but don't upgrade anything. After beating level 3, you'll have enough money for the Shotgun (ignore Uzi). Keep using that for the next several levels, upgrade wall, more gunmen, shotgun reload, and get about 5 repairmen. Then, save up for rocket towers. Get three of them at the same time. Rocket towers aren't good at getting trucks or flying dudes, but they're good at everything else.
To beat the end, you must start striking it with arrows as soon as possible, have all your skills maxed, use many angels and dragons, and spam hobbits like mad. Why spam hobbits? Because they're speedy and it will reduce the monster's ability to move forward until the next angel or dragon gets there to halt it. You might consider using golems, but that's just a waste, because even though they can withstand 2 hits they only get in one or two attacks in if they're lucky. Your arrows will basically do most of the work.
