The events seem pretty hard at first but you'll find that they actually are very well balanced, especially on hard mode. If having trouble with the persian invasion, save up some envoys and get Pella into your alliance. They come online two turns before the attack and their 1k warriors are just enough to turn a complete defeat into a hard won victory. Then financing Alexander's campaign, and getting Greece together against the romans... Love this game!
