After 112 levels I've come to the unexpected conclusion that this game is bloody brilliant. It is a nihilistic treatise on the human condition, as heart wrenching as it is mind bending. The genius is most apparent when one considers the uniqueness in the media used. I'm utterly blown away.
While at first enjoyable, several factors would keep me playing much longer. The lack of semi-transparency is an already stated major issue, as well as the equipped items taking inventory space being... not conventional. One thing that is very frustrating, though may just be an aspect of the game-play you want, is the need to manually save in town. This seems un-necessary. If this is a feature you'd like to keep, a "town transportation" option would help this problem. At the least labeling exits would make the journey to town much easier. Perhaps I'm a spoiled gamer, though, lol. The game has great potential, though.
