There should be maybe a non-canon campaign for the Rivadis side, it'll be fun to play the evil side and just having the option to play as all four sides in general!
The game could allow for weapon upgrades. It's a somewhat plain side scrolling shooter without it, though level 2 was a fairly unique sight.
Btw, I'm pretty sure the game was inspired the novel 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' and not A7X. The reference to the author's name (Private Thompson) is proof of this. For the record, the A7X song of the same name was definetly inspired from the novel.
Its a bit of a shame that the series has to an end, but it was probably for the best: This is easily the best game of the trilogy, with great gameplay mechanics and a more opened-ended experience. It'll be hard to top this installment with future, watered down sequels that won't have quite the same impact that this one did. 5/5
The long awaited sequel to Mardek 2 is here, and by god it is an incredible one! I estimate the amount of content has multiplied by a factor of 4-8 compared to M2 so you WILL be kept busy that's for sure! I've got a good 40 hours of time in total on my latest saved file (across the three games) and I'm stuck on the 'superboss', who will no doubt take much careful planning to defeat. I love the gameplay of the whole series and how it is highly reminiscent of old-school Final Fantasy (which it was no doubt inspired by), but I love how it parodies pop culture/traditional RPG cliches and includes general bits of light-hearted humour here and there. If crave RPGs and have a good sense of humour, then this one certainly won't disappoint you! Congratulations Pseudo, considering your status as an indie games producer you've done an incredible job creating this masterpiece: games of such quality only come once in a blue moon.
Fun game, never played the first but I'm quite impressed with this installment. Its surprisingly addictive and requires a bit of strategy to win. Unfortunately, that brings me to my biggest problem with the game: the harder difficulty levels. When you provide the computer with high resource piles and a lot of powerful cards, it sometimes feels like luck is a driving factor rather than skill. You're a crippled antelope trying to fight off a lion in these scenarios, and it's painful to get mauled over and over again.
This Toge person seems to have an obsession with the undead. Perhaps try for something a little more original for your next game? (That aside this game is pretty awesome)
Monocular Precision is easy to get, just spam the gas ability and get both your planes to fly in a straight line. Once the fast aircraft are down, take it slow and easy to down the slower plane. 30 points in the bag!
Ugh! Just a word of warning to those playing hard difficultly, the final boss loves to use the Ion cannon against you and spams the crap out of it. Really frustrating...
@brucelee2000: I'm pretty sure the description of the blue key was pure sarcasm. The game designer assumed that everyone would understand the purpose of keys after describing the green one.
I don't understand why people keep comparing this Advance Wars and claiming that its a cheap rip-off. Urban probably used Advance Wars as inspiration, but he produced a different game from it. Sure, there are similarities, but also different and original gameplay mechanics. You need to understand that its difficult to be completely original. If everyone made such games, I would imagine that only a couple thousand games would ever be released, and the industry would quickly die out. Some people really need to get their heads in order.
@DragonBlaze123: Of course arena is better. This is just the final arc of the campaign mode, and there are some who enjoy it. I want to see the story come to a conclusion and I'm sure there are others besides me. Btw, whatever happened to Mayjor? He just disappeared completely from the storyline.
Played the first 5 missions and loving it. One thing I don't get though: How are you able to produce stealth tanks when they are an Arkadian technology? Is there important lines of dialogue that I missed from the previous game?
@Massu1004: I don't see how that is possible, I was able to buy everything without losing to the nightmare...unless you decided to spend 100 gems each day just to open the entrance to the sacred grounds, that can really cut back on your funds.
The boss can be a real pain with low fortitude, health and without regen. Beyond that, its a simple enough platformer that's rather entertaining! Be looking forward to the sequel! Shame we won't be able to use the girl though: I was looking forward to flailing that kickass flaming sword around!
