When gem conservation level is high enought, you can craft a pick without using your gem and then recycle it, getting a one less level gem. Do it 6 times and you got a same level gem. Do it 36 and you get a beter gem without minning.
I like to think of diplomat as being a real hustler of a class. You don't have much cash, but you know how to gain respect and trust. Therefore, you have more city respect, and more mobsters with you, even though you don't have as much spending money. Alternatively, the strategist is the real war class - you aren't likely to gather much respect that way!
Nice, but too easy... As bad events dont make you to lose the cargo, you can buy 150 low price items, and get a 500% profits quite easy and without risk.
If you survive the first 4 minutes, you will surely win. Just build some ion canons at the beggining until you can build missiles, they destroy anything in seconds. Upgrade economic centers and dont spend money in repair bases, the best deffense is a good attack.
