If you're looking to replay this game after beating it, try this: You may only upgrade TWO skills. You can max these two, but only these two, so choose wisely. Weapons are unrestricted.
I escaped like this, can you?
DEATH, ELOHSA is one of the more well mannered of players. He may seem narcissistic, but this has been earned. I imagine your problem with him is a series of embarrassing defeats. Although his kills are somewhat higher than his skills, he is far past the level I assume you're at. You can't expect a victory. And even if his maps put him at a slight advantage, you must realize that no one would hold their fire long enough for you to get your bearings.
I had just just 7HP left and my opponent escaped, leaving just me and a nail bomb in a small room. But luckily, it was too close to the floor and didn't detonate. Once I re-engaged, however, I was quickly killed by my own stray nail from across the map.
Unexpected = Fun
Lawl, after dieing just once on a mission worth 20k, one black hole kills me twice. The first time I'm autopiloting along with my engine overdrive when I spot a foe. I launch some type 3 carnivores and he explodes; but I didn't get the credit, so I thought it was a friendly. However, the only friendly in the sector was on my radar and out of range of the foe. So I immediately thought black hole, and checked which direction I was going. As I feared, I was drifting off course. Before I could react, I suddenly impacted it. After that I was flying by cautiously, when I'm hit by an EMP and drift right into it! That's what I like about this game. So many things to watch, it takes either your full attention or your life.
It's really quite repetitive, and can get old. But don't let that deter you! The entire game is designed to prepare you for the final battle, and let me tell you, it's a doosy. And remember, it'll either be complete victory, or mean starting over from the very beginning, quite a stressful thrill!
Here's two maps; each is just a copy of the substations in SF:DG, but they're not bad.
