At first I thought I could only squash bugs with the Nuke. Then I found out you could set off the nuke with another weapon, then I found out Lightning is the wrong choice of weapon to use.
Throwing on meat before a customer orders it, while a viable tactic in real life, causes you to fail the grilling portion of the order. What a load of crock...
"Sanctify", the Lightbringer ability, is overpowered. First, it doesn't heal enemies (or allies for that matter). Second, it stacks. Having a hard time in a fight? Stack a few Sancitfies right on top of yourself. Got to level 11 no problem using this tactic. Then I died because I charged the boss room and was swarmed by about 6 enemies and the boss. Ran out of mana, and when my stacked sanctifies dropped I died.
BEST early game: Necromancer (heal + summon = ezmode)....BEST mid-game: Red dragon, Bahamut, NicolBolas, Platinum Dragon (anything that flies and has enough hit points to ignore most of the enemies).... BEST for finding all the enemies: Flies (Fast + Fly + quick attack)... MOST WORTHLESS ATTACK: Cthulhu - Control..... MOST ANNOYING: The Invisible Man
How to grind all the powerups:
Equip your army with small, quick, disposable attack units. Do level XIII on Epic. Let it grind away in a stalemate for a few hours (AFK). When you're ready to beat the level, chain-cast shield until the enemy base is razed.
Things I like about this game:
* Catchy
* Simple
* Fun
* Nostalgia factor very high
* easy-to-use combat system
* Treasure room every 25 levels is nice respite
* Perma-death risk is nice
Things I don't like:
* You can't raise agility high enough to get in 2 attacks per 1 enemy attack, even against the SLOWEST monster. This means that any agility over getting first strike is a waste.
* Magic casting is borked. It is not a viable playing path. I'd love to see a video of someone proving me wrong.
* The whole goal of a new game is to get "Heal", then the game switches to ez-mode
Wish List:
* Be able to convert normal items into artifacts
* Make magic casting more viable
* Make transport-to-any-level-after-beating-boss a 1-time use per beating the boss.
