The original Idle Raid was sort of a prototype / alpha version. It had a lot of issues (mostly related to balancing and progress). This is a fresh start where most of the problems are fixed and a lot of new features (PvP, Potions, etc.) are added.
Thanks for the feedback. I had considered adding a roots system and having growth also depend on the amount of water the roots could gather as well as the sunlight it could gather. So a tree without enough roots or leaves wouldn't finish growing. Ultimately I wasn't sure I was going to be able to work those in during the 48 hour competition time, which is over in a few hours.
I beg to differ. Not all simulations are games, but this one is. It may not be the most fun experience as a game, but it does include game elements such as goals (increase the number, yay), a win condition (I beat my best score, yay), and competition (I've got the best score at this game in the damn universe, yay!).
