Awesome series, however I think is the weakest episode. It's just too easy!
And the logout was way too similar to the last surgery in DC2, just another story. And even worse was, that you couldn't fail it here, at least as far as I know.
Btw. the Extra Treatments are no life saving surgeries you can't even fail. It's only revolting. But if that would bother you, you wouldn't play this anyway. :)
I loved DC2, that was intense! But intensity is, what is missing in DC3.
Yeah, the collision detection is a bit too primitive. You have to check, if the paddle went too far through the puck.
But it's pretty nice for a first game. 3/5 for the effort.
I always wonder, why people submit their first attempts with Flash, especially when it's no real game yet, as many pointed out already.
However I see potential here. The accelerations are very well done. I guees you already know a thing or two about programming, RetroTV. Keep it up!
Of course the original Advance Wars games are better! This is a one man project. Urbansquall didn't have a dozen or so people to program, make the graphics, compose the music, design the maps and whatnot!
It's still a very good game and one of the best here on kongreate!
For everyone, who doesn't know any of the AW games:
The units do damage proportionally to their HP!
First of all: great game! I love Advance Wars, even though I've never beaten the final map.
Two minor things though:
I find it awkward to just have to click on an enemy to attack. In other games of that kind, there is usually a menu after movement, if you want to attack, heal or whatever. I accidentally didn't attack someone several times because of that.
Second are the dialogues. I thought they were pretty boring. It needs either some jokes, or a better story.
But for a one-man-project, this game is awesome!
I've seen worse on this site. However I've also seen better on the Atari 2600, and that does mean something!
I's still not worth 2 points though. But I'm sure this was a good practice for you!
Nice Idea for a game, but it definately needs more levels and something you could call puzzles.
For now it gets only 1/5 from me. But if you put some efford in here, you could get 3 or 4.
Ok, the doppelganger ninjas are really hard, if you can only type while looking at the keyboard.
If those come together with the shuriken and the flash bomb guys (and they do!), it gets impossible for me.
For me it's either I beat a level flawlessly or not at all because of that.
Oh well, guess I need to learn typing properly. ^^
The staff definately underestimated the server load this game generates.
The game itself however is great!
You shouldn't expect a MtG clone though. Yeah you have to "collect cards" in a way, but it would work just as well if they didn't call the characters and items cards.
It's a mind game. You have to think, what your opponent will do and what your opponent thinks you'll do. It's especially important for intercepting fighter switches and distance changes.
That's actually the basic strategy here: Get into the best range for your fighter, make your most damaging moves if you can, switch if you think it's safe, or intercept, when you think your opponent switches. There are two main reasons to switch: Your fighter is low on health and you are not in your best range anymore.
Easily earned badges, if you played the other 2 ITank games.
THat said, there is nothing new here, besides of better graphics. Still a good game though. 4/5
This is probably the best Tower Defense game ever made, maybe even the best Flash game ever. I wold give it a 10 if I could! :)
The concept is like in Protector, but since you can mix your "wizards" it gets a bit more complicated and a lot more strategic. I love it!
Seriously, only one level?!? You got to be kidding!
Nice prove of concept, but not more.
And please make it more obvious that
1) the blocks are dangerous (by adding spikes or making them pillars of fire or something) and
2) you have to go out of the screen to finish the level. The door is just background material! It only confuses players!
An arrow pointing to the right would have been better.
Ahh, the very essence of a roguelike game. I like it!
For those, who never played a roguelike:
Using items before you have identified it, is often a bad idea!
The potion could be poison, a scroll could summon magic bolts, that recochet from the walls, hitting you and enemies alike. Armor could be worse than your old one and cursed, meaning that you can't put it off anymore, etc...
One of the main points of roguelikes is, that they are hard! Every step you make could be your last, if you are not careful.
If there where a recovery crystal (like in Mardek) every odd level, it wouldn't be
a roguelike anymore.
Another main point, even one of the defining ones is, that you can only save the game to quit for a while. A dead hero stays dead!
However, the more you play, the more you know about the game and the longer your heroes tend to survive. And that's what I like about this genre.
Way too easy. And something should happen, when you've beaten the boss. This game needs an end or something...
I give it a 3. But if it was challenging of some sort, I would have given it a 4 or even a 5.
I agree with burly.
Maybe there could be ways added, to actually destroy icebergs and the blue blocks. Of course it shouldn't be too easy...
Maybe one type could be destroyed by aligning three of them in a row and the other by making combos in the vincinity.
Also there should be a (difficult) way, to rotate blocks with craetures on them. Maybe you could earn some kind of tool, if you make enough combos.
Overall this game is OK, but it needs "action" of some sort.
