A very ambitious game, but terrible music and pretty bad gameplay.
First off the song creator is very ambitious and well made. Sadly I don't feel like writing music in this game, but it's a great enabler and allows for "real" covers etc. Really cool stuff. Sadly the playing part of the game is pretty lacking, first of all no one never explains what the dark notes mean, I sort of figured out they were "out of beat" notes, but this was non obvious. Second the music in the game is all pretty terrible, the same droning super fast drumbeat in the background, over vocalless guitar riffing. Pretty terrible, and Super Guitar whatever Deluxe 3 has far more fun song. Second you lack the "hold on" type notes that I enjoy in Guitar Hero, Rock band etc.
So work more on making it more fun to listen to/play the songs and this could be a hit, but now I am glad I'm done with the badges.
I think it would have been a fair bit better if the enemy was more organized, as it is now they just arrive at a pretty random rate, and on auto so do my units, and as long as I keep pushing out better units at a faster rate I'll win. But if I had to actually engage my units to win, it would have been fun
Honestly this game is far too easy. I'm at my tenth of so town and I havn't had to replay a single time, I just max out units and set them on auto. Boring :/ Enjoyed the zombie version more, though the "idea" of this game is more appealing.
The combat system is pretty sub par. Not only is there very little control or understanding how it actually works, (what does defense/offense actually DO?) but it is pretty much impossible for weaker players to "hide" from bigger players, in order to get an army you really need to fight in the wilderness, but people can always join your enemy in the wilderness, seconds before the battle begins. So I can sit and when my opponent, trying to recover from me killing their army, attacks a weak wilderness, I can defend the wilderness and crush them again.
This game would be a lot better if there was a better way of dealing with ghosts, as it is now I have to pray that my anti-ghost towers shoot at the ones actually near escaping.
I think this game would be alot more fun if the silly places were removed. I should know where the capital of Chad is, but I shouldn't know where some silly little island that calls itself a nation is. That's retarded.
sitting on a total of all amateur perfect and the three easiest pro ones, though I've been horribly close on the zelda one since frankly it isn't very difficult. Totally 61 points so far, I imagine at 68 is where it REALLY will start getting hard, getting gold on the extremly difficult ones won't be insanely crazy but getting perfect on Run'n'gun and Switch
