I usually stay away from Metroidvanias like the plague, but this one was actually enjoyable for me. You may have opened up a new guilty pleasure for me :)
Reminds me of a number of pixelly, RPG-styled games with heart and effort put into them. I love the quirkiness and I love bullet hells, and they fit together awesomely. :]b
Either the boards should be de-randomized to some extent, which would be difficult and awkward and lead to brute forcing of levels, or the move count should be removed altogether. Anything relying on pure random chance, such as any match game, should not have a set number of moves to complete its goals in. The only time I've seen move limits in other games were on premade puzzle boards. It's a new and good idea, but one that doesn't play out too well.
It's mildly interesting that the enemy health points can drop into the negative hundreds, and I get killed when my lone guy still has like, 50 hp left.
Well, it is a cute game, but doesn't have very much variety, so it turned into a grind pretty quickly. As such, I found coasting along the ground and relying on the springs/bombs and rocket was also pretty quick in getting me the millions needed to max out the upgrades.
Nah but, in the Church part/Gem part I tried to use options and turn the sound down and it would not let me. "Options unavailable". Thank you. That was a great time.
