It looks good for a first game, but buggy - Mine froze when I got hit by one of the enemies in the first house.
It's also quite quiet, and enemies have no animations when they die, which looks quite odd.
Guard 1: Can you get me a drink?
Guard 2: Sure.
*Guard 2 leaves*
*I come in and kill Guard 1*
*Guard 2 comes back*
Guard 2: Here you go.
*Guard 2 walks off*
er...
I hate how you can lose without losing all your turrets because population drops to 0
I thought this was "Tower defense" not "Defend your dumb average peoplez!! oh no!!!"
Just because it's new doesn't make it "Beta".
There's no need to hide any possible problems behind technical terms; bugs can be fixed, suggestions can be implemented, the game gets developed.
If you're not willing to improve it there's no point calling it Beta, because it's not even going to get developed past that stage.
-Make the "Upgrade" tiles OPTIONAL. That level where you have to use huge, slow heavy artillery is frustrating as a midget with a mace.
-Make reproducing HARDER and SLOWER. The earlier levels are easy because you can simply reproduce a crap ton of bees LITERALLY out of your ass, and it becomes simply a matter of patience as you replace every single bee that your enemy destroys. And then when you get onto the harder levels the enemy does exactly the same, only, because they're defending, you usually end up losing as the "HURR HUGE HEAVY ARTILLERY" bees just wipe out your eggs before they can even hatch.
-THINK THE DIFFICULTY CURVE THROUGH. Make the game get harder at a slower rate. And don't think that just because it's one of the last levels it needs to be nigh-impossible.
-Simplify and elaborate on the stats. What does "Sight" do anyway? All I know is it makes my bees slow, weak and useless, and there's nothing I can do to reverse the changes the "Upgrade" (Downgrade) tiles do.
Level 14, they again start off with artillery, but this time they're right next to you and start hammering your poor, tight anus with it before you even grab your fifth tile. I tried being strategic and grabbing the flight powerup, but as soon as I got anywhere near them I was hit by ~15 "HURR HUGE RANGE HUGE DAMAGE" artillery bees. They fire about once a second, which means that if they each target a seperate bee (And they do, oh man they do) they can wipe out an entire squad in about 2 seconds.
Level 15.... I don't know, I'm still stuck on Level 14! And I'm not going to try it again for the umpteenth time, I've had enough.
Reconsidered. This game is truly godawful, especially in the later levels. The difficulty curve is more of a vertical line, starting at Level 12 and going from 0% to 100%.
The bosses are horribly overpowered - And yes, I know they're BOSSES, but when you get them simple focusing their fire directly onto your first unit at the VERY START of the level, you know that the game developer has no idea what they are doing.
And when there are two bosses, one will focus on taking away EVERY SINGLE ONE of your tiles, and instantly repair any that you attempt to retake, the other will focus on killing EVERY SINGLE ONE of your units... Right from the very start, again!
Then there's level 13, where the enemy start off right next to a nice handy "Huge range and damage" modifier tile, which essentially lets them sit back with a nice cold beer while wiping out your base from the other side of the map.
It gets incredibly frustrating when you are stuck with a load of uselessly evolved bugs, such as the "seeing" ones (Seriously, what is the point of them?) that have NO range and NO damage and NO health and so essentially end up running up to the enemies and getting killed before they get within a yard of them.
And then there are the hugely overpowered artillery bugs with huge range and damage, but that take frustratingly long amounts of time aiming.
Badly thought out and executed, imo.
