Hi, you can, but not directly. If you rise steeply you slow down. If you turn nose down and dive from top of the screen to low altitude and then pull up to not crash, you gain speed.
two maxed out tesla towers per bottleneck = game breaker. in fact, in later levels, I built these and then left the game alone to do some chores. throw in an aa tower for good measure, and make sure you mute the game before you leave, the music gets annoying after a while. strangely, I still enjoyed the game, perhaps because of the nice graphics. once in a while, I liked to take a glance at the tesla towers' arcs annihilate enemy after enemy...
disobedience is a problem. if one of the guys gets injured and I order him to retreat, he'd turn on around on his own after a few steps and start firing, which of course gets him killed. well, replacing people is - strangely - no problem in this game, but the valuable equipment! all gone! omfg!
I can't believe I actually played this until level 5... O_o then, of course, the damn can keeps sitting in the freezer and blocks my perfect production line. nice, err, 'game'...
with a few tweaks, this could be great:
(1) ok, the aircrafts are zeppeline-type hover-thingies, but why do all need to have to maneuverability of a drunk elephant?
(2) the mining robot is a nice touch, but who has time for that when the fastest route to victory is rushing the enemy?
(3) basic upgrades for the aircrafts (e.g., fire power, fire rate, speed, steering) would already make the game much more satisfying.
great move to make it open source, though. I'll check on it regularly to see how this develops.
mission 8 is actually quite easy if you note the last wave of air units, then deconstruct all anti-air towers as soon as it's over and spam that basic machine gun thing instead.
a neat little game. the only source of frustration is that it is almost entirely luck based. at least a (slight) increase in starting hp with each subsequent run should be put in place. as it is, my strange addiction to the game didn't make me any better at it beyond a, say, five minute learning curve. still, good work. i'm off to the next run...
