It reminded me immediately of Myth and Myth II especially how you start out with a few guys in a village in then end up commanding huge armies vs increasingly difficult undead armies. It has a touch of Kingdom Rush which is a great game as well and I'm already looking forward to the sequel. It would be great if created more terrain variety such as trees that block arrows, deep sand to slow movement, undead that hide in deep water and maybe equipment or hero settings for expansion on the experience and leveling system. Great game.
Yes, good ideas. Btw I already designed highgrounds, forts, swamps, deep sands, but then removed from game - such things need more than 1 screen to operate ) And hopefully you'll see them in a sequel.
I just maxed out archers. Then focus on Paladogs upgrades that give aura damage and special abilities. I used two experience rings, a poison staff, turn undead staff (or meteor) and heal staff (or food). After I maxed archers I then unlocked them all in order, if I ever got stuck on a special letter I would put a few levels into whichever units were used and change my staves to the spells in that level... Even after getting the penguin massing archers is still the best strategy... Turns a bit grindy
Fun game has potential. I think Purple should be between red and blue, green between, blue and yellow. I understand if you only wanted 5 characters but it makes more since. You could have 6 with primary and secondary colors and then have black or brown squares which boost all of them. As was said before the memory leaks needs to be sorted, and I think the skills tab should be available or maybe the character glows with energy when a skill is ready to be used so you don't have to investigate each character. Fun game and satisfying.
