mmmh... music doesn't shut off when toggled, even after changing menues and starting the game, but muting works at least. the lack of control over your targeting is a little disappointing, but not a deal breaker. sometimes when enemies are moving away from you, shots will simply vanish behind them without causing damage. this game feels shoddily put together, I'm afraid.
oh, now, look at this! I saw this game a lot earlier and gave a little bit of critique and you've turned it into something truly awesome. I hope that you're proud of this gem, since you should be. well done! :D
for glitchy fun, start at 100, then quickly TURN AROUND and fly backward! if it resets you, then do it again until it lets you keep going. at higher speeds, interesting graphical anomalies will appear!
it's a fantastic and well-polished game. I like it quite a lot!
one problem: if you save in an area where pirates haven't been wiped out and you're weak... if you reload, there's a chance that the pirates will spawn on you and destroy your ship with no chance to escape, putting you in an unwinnable situation. yep, I fell for it.
@Omegnight: I know, right? a neat feature that perhaps might be considered... let the player choose one piece of equipment to keep between rounds, giving them a progressive advantage to push toward the end. speaking of which, an ending would be nice. I also noticed that it seems to be saving... but there's no continuing. this would offset that.
huh. my only 2 complaints: very short (more! MOOORE! :D) and no bleepy blippy music to bop to in order to suit the tone! otherwise: me gusta. well done!
Thank you! =) I would have liked to make it longer, and also had some ideas for additional rooms, but time for the competition was running out. =P Regarding music, it sure would have added a lot to the game, but I know nothing at all about music. Maybe I should try one of those autocomposing programs for my future games. =D
not a bad concept. it shows promise. give us some improved graphics, and maybe a setup which lets us steal a different weapon from each enemy with advantages and disadvantages to each. I'm reminded a bit of "Einhander" in the concept. in that game you would salvage "gunpods" from enemies to use against them. let's see what you've got! give us more!
yikes, saving is space is risky, i always recommend dock saves, its automatic
