When you have a game like this (in the Super Meat Boy vein), it is INCREDIBLY important to get your physics just right. In this case, they are almost but not quite there. The two biggest problems (which likely have the same root cause) regard walls: jumping while moving into a wall prevents you from controlling the height of your jump, and rubbing against a wall occasionally returns your double jump.
One other frustrating issue is that the levels restart instantly. Like Super Meat Boy, there needs to be a short time (one second at most) for the player to stop moving and prepare for the next run. When the game is all about memorizing routes, anything that interferes with your ability to restart properly ruins that. Not having an opportunity to read what the wall has to say to you is also problematic, since it's a major theme of the game.
If you are planning on making another game, I would strongly suggest either getting a writer, or removing the "plot" entirely. The grammar errors, awkward prose, and half-baked worldbuilding just detract from the experience.
...I accidentally hit "post comment". I mean that if this game were longer it would become tedious, but as it is now it manages to be concise and entertaining without dragging on. Perhaps other people would have a higher tolerance than I do, but it's better for people to be asking for more than to be wishing it were over with. It's like ice cream: a little bit has you wanting more, too much has you feeling sick.
I feel that all the people suggesting the game be made longer are dead wrong. There is absolutely such a thing as overstaying your welcome, and this game lands firmly in the sweet spot.
Aside from a few minor glitches (store display gets a bit wonky when you buy something and then look at other things you've purchased), this game does what it set out to accomplish... but it just didn't set out to accomplish very much. It's a low-grade copy of other, already-existing games.
Music is nice, I guess.
The game works pretty well, but there are a few simply baffling design choices. The cargo hold being literally the Knapsack Problem is annoying... just have the game solve that one for me at the end of the day, rather than having me mess around with it for a few paltry dollars. Similarly, just sell the goods automatically. Randomly pricing goods in the marketplace is pointless, just sell them for the listed value. Having to go to the weaponsmith to reload my weapons... same deal, just do it for me, the money doesn't matter. Treasure Maps give so little gold they aren't worth it, especially with a ~50% success rate (which is about the best you can expect). When entering the boss area going south, you just smash into the wall and die, which is bad. Finally, find somebody who speaks English natively to write (or at least edit) the dialog, what's here is awkward at best.
Essentially just a "fit these shapes on this board" puzzle. However, the interface for "connecting" the netbots was simply worse than placing actual pieces on the board. Additionally, the pieces don't light up sufficiently, making it nearly impossible to tell at a glance what you've filled, especially for certain colors. Further, the difficulty progression is incredibly screwy, with the levels leading up the last being insultingly easy, and the last level only being difficult because I couldn't play with actual pieces to see how they fit together (didn't see diagonal + wedge = 3x3 block).
The idea is interesting, but does not actually lead to interesting gameplay. Fundamentally, there are only four actions you can perform, and that's immediately reduced to 3 (as repeating your previous action has no effect). With only three possible actions, it is either very obvious or easy to mash your way through. The level design is also obnoxious, with one-way "gotcha" triggers that serve no purpose except to force you to restart if you dare to actually start at the logical beginning of the puzzle. The game is competently made, otherwise.
Was stuck on level 19 until I had some steak, at which point I was able to finish the game.
Very good, but may be difficult for vegetarians. The game wasn't bad, either.
