I like the idea and love the combat system, though it could do with a bit more detail on damage types/vulnerabilities. The minigames are a very nice touch that keeps it from becoming a slog.
My only real complaint, aside from a handful of typos, is the art. It's very inconsistent and you can tell that the sprites have come from all over, and it's irritating when the portraits are in completely different styles from each other.
Overall, I'm definitely looking forward to more!
It's pretty alright. Minimal upgrade and enemy variety combined with bullet sponges that either demand tedious amounts of time to kill, or grinding previous levels beforehand, definitely hurts the game.
A piece of advice: if you're using pixel art, stick to a common resolution for all sprites or it tends to look janky. Don't rotate sprites, either- you might have to draw a few new frames but it'll improve the visuals immensely.
A word of advice to those playing- putting a point into both transmutation and holy affinity (You can also get the affinity with two levels in Priest, which is arguably more useful and more affordable) for heal is pretty much mandatory to survive past the first stage.
Don't give up, your first few tries are going to crash and burn.
This is really neat, and I do love the concept. It's a little hampered by microtransactions, but not nearly as badly as some games. I just wish it got a bit more attention.
Honestly, the game kinda strikes me as a bit lazy. The levels are long, slow, and not terribly action-packed. The sprite for your gun and the enemy's is identical, and the animation for running forward and backpedaling is the exact same. The music is nice but a lack of variety makes it get stale. The art is enjoyable and I like the style but hampered by looking rather stretched, like it's out of it's native resolution. Furthermore, from what I can gather of the Greenlight, the whole thing looks almost identical to Battleheart, not to mention a mobile game and not exactly the sort of thing that belongs on Steam.
Heal is usefull, especially for human (holy 1 from start) but not mandatory :) and it burns your max fatigue !
