Damn, it's been a while since I got so much enjoyment out of a game. I actually feel satisfied that I got the hard achievement, unlike with some games where I felt like I wasted my time.
I have never before been so frustrated that a civilian can die if tipped over sideways the tiniest smidgen. For Chrissakes, little girl, stop dying so I can get my gold medal.
Best characters for me are the ones that can fly and have the ranged attack that bounces and shoots out three bolts. Birdman leader and demon both have those, so they're almost unstoppable once you get them. Also, the music reminds me of Goldeneye 007.
The gun's only usable when there's a zombie or a soldier clinging to your hood. Otherwise, it's only punching. This confused the crap out of me too, at first.
Everything in this is so awesome. I can't even catch all the references. Lucky Star and Konata, the Golden Sun classes in the damage medals, various other anime and videogame tributes/parodies...it's just too much. Also, the detail is incredible. The different clothing also shows up on the characters as they walk around, and the upgrade style is also incredibly intuitive and fun to do. Collecting shitloads of random items is also immense fun. This is a great game.
The foundation of this is neat. The idea and the execution of the basic formula is well done, and I enjoyed doing the missions and other things to an extent. The traveling could be sped up, and you could have an event box informing the player of events instead of watching the tedious travel. More variety, like a working economy like caravaneer, or maybe more upgrades and improvements to the ship that shows cosmetically too would be cool.
The physics in this game are hilarious, and even though it's a very frustrating game overall, I beat it and experienced a sensation of comfort and satisfaction.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable game. I like the style, and the thought-provoking way you crafted the setting. That said, I'm rather impatient for more. This was too short an experience...
Yeah, the bow is notoriously overpowered. Once I got to the Whistler something town and found the bow, I used it the rest of the time. The badges on this one are also easier to get than they seem, and they also serve as a motivation when it starts to get boring stocking up supplies.
